Music in the office
I don't mind it, as long as I like the music lol. I listen to Pandora at my desk. I use earbuds so I don't disturb anyone.

We have musaq that plays through speakers in our office, it's on a set channel that we can't change, it plays all pop music

how come? That sucks.
I find it really makes me work fast and focus more. One woman who works nearby me always plays great stuff and sometimes I email her my requests, like an office dj 
My office has like 500 people in one giant open building....few bad apples spoiled it for the bunch.

Music in the office
I don't work in an office and we have no computers or radios, so there is no music being played...BUT we used to have a music program and so there is a guitar and a keyboard. One obnoxious guy used to sit in the common area and play and sing all the time. We were all annoyed by it because he was loud, wasn't playing anything good, and was extremely disruptive when some of us were working. I took the batteries out of the keyboard and hid them, another coworker of mine punched the guitar when he was playing and it broke. Those were two magical days!
When I worked retail, we had a little radio in our photo lab. I enjoyed that even though we only listened to 10 songs. When it's just 1 radio station (106.1 was basically the only station that came in) all day, you get sick of the songs!

I have my own office so I play my iPod, the appropriate music only, in my office at a low volume.
Others do the same, no problem.
The lady that sings in my office, loudly, to no music at all - just the looney tunes soundtrack that runs on loop in her head is a different story.

Music in the office
i share an office with 2 other girls
i have the ipod dock by my desk and i play top 40 at an appropriate level...my coworkers are fine with it and like it :)

Music in the office
I have an office so I play music but still keep it low. People out in cubicals use head phones but just because there are so many people and it is a pretty open floor plan. If a bunch of people near each other both wanted to listen to music it would be annoying. As long as it is nothing offensive or played too loud I don't see an issue. It can be tough especially since people have such different taste in music.
