Starting Oatmeal Question
DD's doctor wants her to start with oatmeal (not rice). I bought reg flavored oatmeal. I noticed at the supermarket they had flavors (banana and peaches/cream). Did you start with the reg or flavored? If you started with reg, did you end up trying the flavored? When did you transition? What was your reasoning?
Thank you in advance!

Starting Oatmeal Question
I started with regular. I introduced fruit one at a time (mixed in). I wouldn't start with a flavor- if your DD has an allergy you won't know if its from the oatmeal or the flavoring.

Re: Starting Oatmeal Question
Start with regular. If she has a reaction you won't know if its the oatmeal or banana.

Exactly. You need to introduce single food before combined foods. Once you've done oatmeal on it's own, then you can do oatmeal banana (but only after the ped gives the okay to start fruits). When you begin combining foods, there should only be 1 new thing in each combination.

Starting Oatmeal Question
We started with regular oatmeal. We didn't make the switch to flavored oatmeal- I started giving him regular, plain quaker oatmeal around 18 months, I added my own fresh fruit to it.
