Formula Newborn Similac?
What brand formula did you register for or are you going to get as a just in case for your newborn? I was told to get a few already made similac bc the hospital uses that. I saw a bunch of different kinds of similac and Im not sure which ones to get or how many I should get?

I always wondered what the difference between Newborn & Regular Similac are. You wont really know what works for your baby till she/he is on it, you may need sensitive formila or one for fussiness or gas..ect.

I've always advise not to register for formula because you never know your babies tolerance. Even if the hospital has Similac your baby may not be able to take it and need Soy or a different brand all together. Formula cannot be exchanged so you will be stuck with it.

Re: Formula Newborn Similac?
Our DD was on 2 different formulas at the hospital because the first did not agree with her at all. Don't register for formula since you don't know what will work. If anything the day you come home, just have DH go pick some up. That's what we did.

We came home from the hospital with enough for a few days. If anything- register for gift cards and use them to buy formula once the baby is born. Don't buy any in advance- most places won't take it back

Do not register for formula. We had to switch DD formula from the one in the hospital b/c of stomach issues. You can go on the Similac and Enfamil websites and register for free samples. They will send you a ton of stuff including checks towards the formula which will save you a ton of money.

Definitely get samples from Enfamil and similac. My OB office even had samples and I took a bunch home.
"Newborn" formula usually just has extra vitamin D. My pediatrician didn't say that DD needed to be on newborn and that regular was fine. We ended up switching to gentlease.

I took some home from the hospital (not much). But they were on the advanced. Id have a case or 2 handy when you get home. Tummy issues usually dont arise til a few weeks so you wont know right away. DD was fine til she started arching and spitting up at about 2/3 weeks then went to sensitive then alimentum.
