Newborn having issues w/powder formula

Does/Did anyone else have this problem? DD is 2wks tomorrow and whenever I give her powder formula she is more gassy and spits up a lot. She hardly ever spits up with RTF. I mentioned it to the ped this morning and that it comes out of her nose sometimes and he said that doesn't make sense, but to give her rtf for the next few weeks. He said that it coming out her nose is a sign of reflux, but she doesn't seem to be in pain or anything. He didn't disregard what I said just said "it doesn't make sense, but sometimes things don't make sense with babies". DS couldn't have powder either but he was a gassy little baby and was on Good Start because of it. Just wondering if this common or uncommon. TIA!

I tried powdered formula once and threw it out. DS hated it. It is much more watery than RTF.

We didn't have that problem but, I do notice a difference when we give DS powder vs ready to feed - he's more gassy and uncomfy.

I would stick with what works best.

My DS cant take the powder. When ever I give it to him he is screaming with gas pain. When I give him the RTF he does not get as gassey.

DD had the same issue, my doctor told me there shouldn't be a difference, but she was so miserable on the powder that we just give her the RTF now.

My DS also had it coming out of his nose a couple of times. I wasn't aware that RTF was better for refux/gassy babies at the time when it was the worst for DS & my Ped never mentioned it to me. He seems to be better on powder now as he is close to 3 months old.

I'm not sure RTF is better for reflux or gas in general, but I think he said to keep with the RTF since it is working better for DD (she never spits up and is less gassy on RTF). He said to give it a few weeks and then once her digestive system is a little more developed we can try powder again if we want.
