13 kids when my DS was in K
21 when my DD was in K.
Both had teacher and aide.

I am a Catholic school teacher in Long Beach. I started with 23 this year but 5 children got displaced after the storm. We've had up to 30 kids through the years.

22 is the base.. but our district gets a waiver to add at least 2 more (up to 4 more) so they average 24 per class.
The problem is our district is very sought after so every time they build an apt complex or new housing community the schools must get waivers. They keep building new schools too but just not fast enough.
ETA: that is for public
The private school she is enrolled in now has a Kinder class... they have 14 students and its growing. They expect to be at at least 24 by next term.
There's another private school thats actually cheaper than AJ's and much more structured that I considered. Its a Catholic school though. And that bothers me a bit. But the classes are the same... 24 per class.
Heck we need more teachers here! Just too many kids!
