Middle of the night feedings

I'm curious what has worked for you...how did your middle of the night feedings get eliminated? Cry it out? Wean them off it? They did it on their own? (I wanted to add a poll but don't think I can from the iPhone/ipad )

Dd is only 10 weeks (i dont plan on trying to eliminate that feeding for another 4-6 weeks) but she's occasionally given me 9:30pm-5:30am so I know she's capable of it. She seems to wake up at the same time each night (2:30am) and doesn't take much. It seems part of why she wakes up crying is bc she has to poop then she feels better and goes to sleep. I'm thinking of giving her either gas drops or gripe water in her afternoon and evening feedings to see if that helps. But I'm still wondering how most people get rid of that feeding.

Ds didn't drop middle of the night feedings until he was 6-7 months. Although he still woke up for other reasons until he was 17 months

i'm no help, my 18 month old still gets up for middle of the night feedings!

We always did a dream feed at 11pm. At 5.5 weeks, we made it a bit larger and used formula, which kept her asleep until 7am

My son was drinking a 4oz bottle during the middle of the night feedings. He started drinking less and less and one night he only took 1.5 oz.

For the next night, I decided when he woke up and was fussing to just leave him alone and see what happens. He ended up going back to sleep and that's how it started.

If he was full blown crying I would have gone in and given him a bottle, but it was a whimper cry.

Dd basically weaned herself around 6 months, but around five months she would go without it sometimes, so I just started giving her less each time. Then eventually she stopped waking for it.

I could have written your post word for word and was asking a friend of mine what to do... DS wakes up around the same time only for about 2oz.. Its driving me crazy!

DS is 4 months and gets up on a good night 1 time to eat (BF). I don't particulary like getting up; but I haven't done anything to stop it. If he's crying I figure he's hungry and I feed him. I stopped changing his pamper at night which makes our middle of the night sessions much quicker. I don't expect that night feeding to dop until about 6 months?

Starting around 6-7 wks, DD would sleep from 8-330am, so I know she can go that long without feeding. That being said, she's currently 4.5 mo and will still wake up 1-2x a night to eat (typically around midnight and then 330). Her schedule changed a bit once I went back to work and I think that's one reason why we've added a feeding back in overnight, but there's not much I can do to rectify that. Sometimes if she wakes and it's only been a couple of hours, DH will go give her the paci and although she'll whine for a few, she will put herself back to sleep, so I know she's not always hungry.
