The Great Gatsby
Is anyone else looking forward to this movie? I'll be honest.. I've never read the book but I'm really looking forward to this movie b/c Baz Luhrmann directed it. I LOVED how he did Moulin Rouge and Romeo + Juliet and it seems like Gatsby will be a similar style.
Anyone else?

YES. I don't care for the girl (Carey Mulligan?) playing Daisy and I'm not into Toby McGuire either (though I think he may have been well cast here), but I *love* the book and Leo as Gatsby  that alone is amazing, but I am a big Baz fan too, so I'm totally excited.

i read the book a million years ago. saw the original about a half million years ago... it's on netflix if anyone wants to watch.
my son just finished reading the book and watching the original movie in his english class.
i'm looking forward to watching it with him so we can compare and contrast.
i'm also looking forward to see leo decaprio as gatsby!

I never read the book but i started to watch the robert redford version on netflix stream.
I think Leo looks amazing. He just fits that era. Love his hair. I really want to see it.

No desire to see this mainly because I'm not a fan of Baz Luhrmann's work. The trailer was an instant turn off for me.

I'm looking forward to seeing it. It just looks so beautiful.
I'll reread the book before seeing it since I haven't read it since college, but I remember not thinking it was as great I expected it to be. Maybe I'll see it through different eyes now that I'm an adult though.

I only read this book last year, so it's fresh enough in my mind that I'm interested in seeing it, but I'm always disappointed in movies when I've read the book. I'm sure I'll catch it on cable soon enough...

I didn't like Romeo and Juliet, Moulin Rouge was better

I haven't done the book to movie thing since Midnight In the Garden of Good and Evil was destroyed on the big screen, BUT I do want to see this. It's been a long time since I read the Great Gatsby so hopefully I won't be too offended.
I did like the Romeo and Juliet movie so I am interested to see how this plays out.

I am really looking forward to seeing this movie. I am not a Leo fan but I do like Baz and I loved the book when I was a kid. FWIW I think they casted it correctly, but he is not my favorite actor.
