Can't process this...bad news after NT scan **Update**
We just got home from Dr a little while ago.
Our Downs Syndrome risk is 1 out of 11
They did the Maternit21 test today but my doctor also wants me to have a CVS as that is 100% accurate
I dont know what to think, I can't process this and can't stop crying
I don't want to know about the CVS and risks associated with it right now (it's to soon)
What I do need to know has anyone had numbers like this and all was ok????
Please  for us. We have an appt at Madonna tomorrow for a consult
***i just spoke with my doctor again and the fold measured today at 6.5 it's suppose to measure less than 3 at this point (12 weeks). :(
So my dr said its most likely Downs or a heart defect :(
Now I really can't process this

These tests are wrong more than they are right. Try not to freak out.

Gdubs had a 1:13 and it turned out fine. This test is notoriously wrong!

Sending you lots of good vibes and well wishes. I know it's hard not to worry about these things. Hopefully, you will get some more information from Madonna and the additional tests will help ease your worry a little. I can't relate to your blood test results, but I had 2 soft markers for DS that scared me. I felt better after meeting with the genetic counselors at Madonna.

Thank you. They said it was a combo of I guess a thick fold measuremt and blood work.
Are there any questions I should call my Dr with?

I had a test come back for Trisomy 18 with 1:10. Everything was fine-tests can be wrong.
You may have had a test come back with a 10% chance something was wrong, but keep faith in knowing that you also have a 90% chance everything is fine.

Its hard not to worry, I have gone through so much this pregnancy and was stressed out and sad for most of it. Now at 29 weeks, everything is fine (as far as we know) and it seems like it was alot of worry for nothing! They have to be careful and cover all their bases just in case. I would take only the tests you absolutely need and nothing more. Hang in there

I am so sorry you're going thru this. One of my tests came back 1:18 chance of spina bifida or other neural tube defect. Everything ended up ok with my DS. I know how scary and stressful it is to get these results. Again, I'm sorry and I hope all is well with your LO.

I'm sorry :(
Try not to panic. You still have a 10 in 11 chance that its nothing!
Do the cvs test. It will either give you some peace of mind, and if by some chance it comes back that the baby has a defect, you can prepare.
