Hi There!

I can't believe my little girl is 8 months old this week. Time is really flying by. I miss my little itty bitty baby who was so tiny and fragile to hold but I am also starting to really enjoy having a girl who is becoming so aware of the world. I just can't believe how many clothes and things I had to pack away and say goodbye too already!!

DD has been sitting up since 5 months old, but at 7 months I finally took out her floppy cover and started letting her sit in a highchair at restaurants and ride in the shopping carts at the stores. That has been soooo much fun!!! DD doesn't laugh much, but when she saw DH playing with toys in the target- she just kept laughing and laughing. Amazing.

She has been a very quiet baby in terms of babbling. She mostly just loudly and in a very high pitch screamed and screamed. But now she is finally making human sounds LOL. She does the "da-da" a lot and "na-na"... still no ma-ma but I am eagerly waiting for that!!

She is moving around like crazy, but no actual crawling. Just stretching her body, rolling around, twisting and turning, reaching, etc. When she does get to a crawling position she usually gets frustrated and whines until I sit her upright or pick her up or something.

She LOVES music. She bobs her head like she is Stevie Wonder, I swear. She also LOVES to eat. She will eat whatever I give her and she does it happily. So far she has tried oatmeal, bananas, apples, pears, peas, carrots, prunes, prune juice, and sweet potatoes. I want to try avocado and squash next. Problem is, with solids, she gets so constipated and backed up. What have your LO's enjoyed eating?? I think she would love to feed herself, so I want to get puffs or something but she still has no teeth. Am I supposed to wait until she has teeth? We keep thinking she is teething, but still nothing has emerged.

I am now starting to plan her 1st birthday. What is everything thinking about doing? Small or large gatherings? I think for her 1st we want to do a big thing and then from years 2 on up... it'll probably be much smaller gatherings with just immediate family and/or just a friends/kids party. Big parties are crazy to plan so I'd love to only have to do a smaller one each year.

August 2012 Moms

My DS is 8 months old yesterday. He's not sitting up on his own yet or crawling. Anyone elses August baby not sitting up un-assisted yet? I feel like with crawling, he is going to do it for a few weeks and then start walking. He babbles a TON and for the most part is always so happy. We are planning his frist birthday. We're having 2 parties, both in our back yard. One for family and one for friends. For the family we will have immediate family as well as some extended family. We'll just order heros, i'll make chicken fingers and fries for the kids and have cake. For the friends party we'll get entertainment for all the kids, get heroes and BBQ some burgers and dogs and again do chicken fingers and fries for the kids. We're doign a sock monkey theme because we've called him our little sock monkey since he's been in the womb :)

Aw glad to hear all is well.. and yes, time does fly!!

My DS will be 8 months in less than a week.. he rolls around a lot but no crawling yet. Actually I have a feeling that he will skip crawling altogether and go straight to walking. He likes when I stand him up on his feet and he will take steps while I hold him. So, we'll see!! He sits up on his own but still a little wobbly so I have to make sure he is on a soft surface in case he falls backward. I have also been letting him sit in the highchair at restaurants. He is still in his infant carrier but we will probably move him into a regular car seat in a month or so. DS is already in 12 month clothes so I have a huge space bag filled with all of his old clothes that don't fit, now have to seal it up and figure out where to put it! He makes sounds but no "mama" or "dada" yet, still waiting! So far I have just been giving him jars of baby food for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, I did try giving him baby mum mums but he wasn't a fan, I should probably try again. No teeth yet.

For the 1st bday plans, I originally wanted to do just pizza and cake with immediate family but DH protested and wants a big party so I am most likely booking a restaurant this weekend, will have prob around 70 people.

These updates are AWESOME!!!!! I can't believe how fast time is going!!!!

Tiny Tot turned 8 months on Easter. 4 days before that she started crawling and sitting up on her own. She also started using the crib to pull her self up on her knees in We had to put the mattress down. She's still tiny. Close to 17pounds so she still can use the infant car seat. She babbles and laughs like crazy. I've been doing baby sign language with her since she was 6 months and this past Saturday she did her first sign!!!! EAT/FOOD. I thought for use it would've been milk.lol She eat's solids like a champ. Watching her eat puffs in very funny. She uses a shot glass to drink water.lol To the park yesterday and put in her in the swing for the first time

We've been planning her first birthday on and off for a few weeks. We're going to have it in our backyard. It's going to be a crazy BBQ. More like a celebration for us being FTP for a year
