I think that the woman was incredibly rude. If she did in fact have some trouble walking, shortness of breath, whatever, she could have simply said, "I'm sorry, but I'm not feeling well today, so I need to park closer." Her quick and snarky answer makes me think that there was really no reason for her to park there other than laziness.
Exactly. It doesn't matter what the conversation is about. If someone responds with something snarky (regardless about if it's about a parking spot, a line at a cash register, or anything else) the person being spoken to will get mad.

So a woman in her 60's parks in an expectant mother spot..
I think it's hysterical that people are claiming they can tell how a person was raised based on a comment made about parking spots. I was raised with great morals, I have manned, I too say please and thank you. I've given up my seat on the train and always hold doors for people. I'm polite to a fault in my everyday life. I volunteer both my time and whatever i can afford to numerous organizations frequently. Yet I do not agree with pregnant parking and think the older lady was funny. I am so horrible. I must have been raised by wolves!

Reading it; it's too funny! At the same time I would have been pretty upset if I was further along and that happened to me

Exactly. Courtesy is an act of kindness that someone does out of the goodness of their heart but is in no way required. When you start demanding that people be "courteous," it becomes entitlement.
Bottom line: people should be gracious when someone does something courteous, and not pissed off when someone isn't.

In fairness, my friend isn't a *****...she's a good person who saw for the second time someone taking a spot that was not supposed to be for them. I'm not saying I would have done the same thing, but I don't think it makes her a ***** for speaking up...

lol I think that is hysterical
Then again I am not a fan of pregnancy parking either...let the flames begin haha
No flames! I feel there should be handicapped parking and that is that. If a pregnant woman is having a tough pregnancy she should have temporary handicapped parking privileges. Anytime I was pregnant I remember thinking how many other people prob need a closer spot than I do. I felt fine, could walk fine etc..
I totally agree!!! I think it's cute to have those signs at BBB or whatever, but when I see them at Stop and Shop and it's the only spot open, it annoys me. I agree that a pregnant woman should be able to get a handicapped parking sticker if she needs it.

I also really appreciated those spots when I was 41 weeks pregnant with a 9+ lb baby after a long day of work on my feet bla bla bla. Walking was painful and difficult. I think its a fine idea. Id never take up the spot when not pregnant or complain about having to walk further because of them. I think theyre a great idea.

I am sure I would be biased if it were MY friend, but honestly it was a bitchy thing to do *IMO*. I know the spot if marked for pregnant women but personally I would not confront and be nasty to a 60 yr old woman over that, not appropriate again IMO.
The older ladys response was bitchy as well dont get me wrong...the whole thing IMO is blown out of proprotion. I have been pregnant, had sciatica the whole bit still think the preggo was ballsy and bitchy to say anything.
