Star Wars for 4.5 year old
Appropriate or no? He got a puzzle from his teachers for holidays and there were vday cards that were Star Wars. Now he is asking for it and I have never really been into it.

I have girls so take this for what it is worth. Last year in PreK all the boys were very into star wars, and the various super heros like spiderman, and batman, and the avengers. They actually knew the movies etc. So no I wouldn't be surprised. DD got today in Kindergarten several star wars cards with light up sabers or lollypops. Not something I put on but I have girls so....mine is into princesses and scooby doo.

DS is 5 1/2 and likes star wars a lot. There are some star wars cartoons and lego star wars things as well. DS has watched some of the movies, but not all of them.

DS has been watching it since before he was 2! He's a huge fan. Actually, he was done with it by 4 and got more into clone wars by then....

When my son was in PreK - many of his friends who had older siblings were very into it. So we let him see it. Forgot which one we let him see first (DH is big into Star wars so he knew which was most gentle). My son had nightmares for a a couple weeks of Darth Vadar but then started watching it more and loved it. He is 8 and still loves Star Wars.
I find the Clone Wars shows (cartoon network) are more cartoon like and fine for them at that age (if you are ok with them using guns, battling, etc.). Now my younger son probably watched it at 2.5-3 along with him and was never scared. My older son takes things very serious and does tend to nightmare so it is the norm for him. He would have nightmares every time he saw Finding Nemo as well (LOL).

I say yes, one DC was about that age when we put on Star Wars for the first time for DC to watch. Totally fine, IMO.

Thanks all. He really isn't the scared type but he also doesn't always sit and watch movies. I jus haven't seen it in so long and wasn't sure if there was anything questionable.

My DS is 5. I'd say Star Wars has been popular with some of his friends since he turned 4. It's not my thing - I don't encourage it at this age. I much prefer the cars, trucks, etc. to the violence.

my son turned 4 in feb and he is very into star wars. my hubby and i watch the movies with him and he explained the story..
start with puzzles, maybe buy a yoda doll etc..
we also have star wars bedding

Star Wars for 4.5 year old
My nephew has been obsessed since he was about 4. He watches them with DH and he will actually sit through the entire 2+ hour movies. We took him to see one of them in 3D when it came out and this kid was so into it. His room is even Star Wars themed.

Logan's been watching since May right before he tirned 4.
He's a nightlight, check the closet kinda kid but Star Wars does not scare him!

Totally appropriate. There isn't anything in any of the movies or cartoons that I think would bother you. If you're really concerned sit down and watch them together!

DS is 4 and totally obsessed.
He has all the SW lego stuff and has been watching the old classic movie with DH. He even has a few SW lego video games he plays.
I think it's fine because it's so dated looking (the movie). Not super violent like the movies of today.
Our issue now is he's gotten so used to playing the video games for an hour at night that he has a meltdown if we tell him no.
Once in awhile I will let him play the games on my IPhone.
