Has this ever happened to you when you get your hair colored?
I had my hair done like 3 weeks ago, and when she put the color on, my scalp was burning. It was totally uncomfortable, and I had to sit for like 30 mins. It has never really happened that I can remember. The next day, I had like tiny little scab like itchy spots, not everywhere but in a few spots. To this day, it still feels funny when I shampoo.
I am sure this is completely unusual, but I figured I would ask here to see if anyone else has experienced it. Should I call the salon? I am kind of annoyed by the whole thing.

I have had hair dye tingle my scalp before, but I always tell them before it gets bad and they wipe off some of the dye from that spot to ease it. It sounds like some sort of irritation/allergic reaction. Did you tell the stylist at the time that it was bothering you? These chemicals can be incredibly harsh and especially if you have sensitive skin I actually don't think it is THAT uncommon for there to be irritation, but you shouldn't have to sit through it like that and deal with this kind of aftermath. I would definitely call them and explain and ask if they know of anything to soothe the skin, and then ask them to put a note down not to use that same type of dye on you next time.

That has happened to me more than once. I think it's because my skin gets really sensitive before I get AF.

Thanks..I did tell her, it was a new salon for me..and so I felt funny complaining, but I did tell her that it was burning, she said it would get better, asked me if I had just washed my hair, which I hadn't, and it started to feel a little bit better. But now I am lost as to why it is still bothering me.
I will call them and let them know..thanks!

It happened to me once. I have a very sensitive scalp and it hurt bad! I believe they can put a packet of sweet n low in the dye and it wont happen next time!

I usually have 1-2 small spots that are like that but not all over my head. I always just think that my scalp was probably irritated in that spot already. Some products bother my scalp so if I have recently used gel or hairspray it is more likely to happen or if I have tied my hair back there might be a tension spot.

It happens to me if I wash my hair the morning I get my hair colored. I don't let them wash my hair before they put the color on.

Yes, the sweet n low works! It happened to me a few times and since then my hairdresser always puts the sweet n low in and it hasn't bothered me since.
