c section scar red, painful and puffy
13 days post partum. I have a doctor's appt tomorrow and I spoke with them today. No fever, no oozing so they said it could wait till tomorrow. Did this happen to anyone? Tia

Re: c section scar red, painful and puffy
Sounds pretty normal to me unless I'm totally not understanding. I mean mine is still reddish. Definitely still hurt 2w post partum. And was definitely swollen. When you say puffy I'm picturing swollen, not like a balloon animal protruding from your abdomen, right?

Re: c section scar red, painful and puffy
sounds normal. im 4 months pp and the scar is still red (doctor says it takes a long time to fade) and i was in a lot of pain until 2months pp, now it has transitioned to numb... and its still sort of puffy, not the scar itself but above the scar. i think what you are experiencing is normal.

Re: c section scar red, painful and puffy
My scar took a longggg time to fade, like over a year. It was also numb for about that long, too. Maybe longer. Sounds pretty normal to me, and with you only being 13 days pp the pain unfortunately is par for the course. Hang in there! And congratulations!!

Actually just the right side is red and puffy and hurts, the left side, while puffy, doesn't look as inflamed as the right side. Either way its good to hear it may be normal!

I had the same thing - one side was worse than the other.

Me too. My right side was much worse. I'm 4.5 weeks pp and my incision still bothers me. It looks pretty much the way you described.

Re: c section scar red, painful and puffy
I'm 16 months out and I still have one side that is red, puffy. I've asked my OB and she says it's normal. Some people just heal differently and scar tissue forms in different ways.

He said it could be drained but when he saw the look of terror in my face he said we can wait it out and it will probably ooze out on its own. Yum!
