Are your presents under your tree?

I did a test last night and put out 1 gift per child. This morning, 3.5yo DS was whining to open the gift all morning. My 1.5yo didn't seem to notice the gift. He has no interest in the tree.

Re: Are your presents under your tree?

No way. That would be mayhem here. I have a 5, 3 and 1 year old.

Gifts go out XMAS eve after kids are fast asleep. It's how we always did it growing up.

When I was a kid my parents put them under the tree on Xmas eve and we'd wake up to find them. I'm going to do the same. Plus, DS has been surprisingly good about not touching the tree, but I think he would try and open gifts if they were there.

Re: Are your presents under your tree?

I have EVERY gift we bought for everyone else wrapped and under the tree and we've always done it that way. My DD is now 4 and honestly pays no attention to them (and never has) because she knows they aren't for her. She doesn't care one bit about the pile of gifts under there.

We put out all of DD's gifts from Santa Xmas Eve night after she is asleep in bed. She doesn't get to see them before then because for one, I think it would be a tease and for two, it would make NO sense to have them under the tree since Santa doesn't deliver gifts until Xmas Eve night. And we do all Santa gifts, no Mommy and Daddy gifts. Chat Icon

Re: Are your presents under your tree?

Gifts that we've bought so far are wrapped and under the tree. DD is 2 and once she was told she shouldn't touch it, she backed off and doesn't even bother. She looks at it each day and says "ooooh...that's pretty" and goes on her merry way.

Same. NO WAY would I put the gifts out. Kids are so naturally curious at that age.... especially with things like wrapped gifts. If I was their age I'd want to open the gifts too LOL! Chat Icon

This is what we do too! The kids "help" me wrap presents for our family members and then we put them under the tree. That way they know exactly what is under there.

Their presents are brought by Santa while they are sleeping.

Re: Are your presents under your tree?

All hidden in the house places... not even wrapped Chat Icon

I put them out the night of xmas eve. Thats also when we fill up her stocking. She puts that out ON the night of xmas eve.

ETA: Santa is a postman. He delivers everyone gift TO AJ on Xmas eve. But "HIS" gifts are all put in the stocking.

So .. stocking is 'from Santa' and all gifts are from whoever they are ACTUALLY from!
