How long to get birth certificate
I delivered at stony brook and filled out paperwork there. Just wondering how long it takes. I need to add baby to my insurance and can not do so without her social sec #

We got it within 5 days or so of discharge.

i did not deliver at the same hospital, but it took a while because they were backlogged with so many births that took place that month.... will your insurance accept a letter from the hospital stating that your DD was born there? We did this at first, but they still needed the birth certificate within a month later so i had to call town hall and push them to send it to me. I think i finally got it when he was 6 weeks. good luck!!

That's a good question, my insurance only needs the social sec # to add her and they give me 30 days so I guess if I don't hear something by end of next week I will start calling...

How long to get birth certificate
I delivered ds at Good Samaritan. I got both the ss card and the birth certificate a few days after coming home from the hospital.
