how long does it take to get the birth certificate?
it's been over 2 months, is that how long it takes?

It's all up to the county or village where your hospital is located. I think ours (mineola) was about a month.

I (northshore plainview hospital) got my dd at 3wks and social security card 6 weeks, my sil son is 3m old and hasnt gotten yet (her hospital was stoneybrook)

same hospital - both kids were within 3 weeks for both BC and SS card

Our hospital was in NYC, and we received his birth certificate around 4 weeks.

DD was born in St. Vincents Hospital NYC we got it when she was around 5 weeks old.

Stony Brook took 3 months. They are slow at processing them.

ours took about a week, we live in NJ though. We had to go to the county office and pick it up. I think we had the SS# within a month.
