Applesauce for babies...
So I usually puree some organic apples for DD (7 months next week). It's fast and easy. This week I couldn't find decent organic apples so I gave her a few tablespoons of Trader Joe's organic applesauce (warmed up a bit). I asked our nanny to do that at lunch today and she looked at me strange. She said..."Are you SURE? They make applesauce for babies." Yes I know...but the ingredients on the jar are "organic apples and water"...exactly whats in the baby food, and exactly what I use to make my own puree. And...my puree is probably CHUNKIER than the TJ's applesauce.
Am I missing something?? Does anyone else do this?

Re: Applesauce for babies...
I puréed my own apples the first time around and use regular applesauce now... If the ingredients are apples, water, and possibly ascorbic acid (vitamin c), its perfectly fine to use.

Same here. I hated peeling those apples and applesauce is much cheaper.

Imo it is no different. My dd is one and I never bought baby Food. You pay for the convienience of baby food, not bc its any different aside from the added salt, sugar and other additives and preservatives.
