Anyone see salters or sanders out for the road?
dh didn't see them at all on commute home...wondering if they were late in getting out or still not out.

Nope. But I still saw workers removing trees from main roads around 2pm on my way home.
They were probably doing that till the last minute before getting sanders and salters ready.
I feel bad for the workers.

from what I understand they have 2 shifts 7-7 am and 7-7 pm ( at least my husbands garage does) if they are cleaning up after the hurricane they will stay there till the end of the shift and the new shift will do snow duty

yes i have. in my parents neighborhood, they went down a main street at least 5 times. my neighborhood, i did not see or hear one.

Yes! They're saying, on the news, that by Sunday we should be in the 60's. However, next week it's supposed to go back down to more seasonal temps.
To answer the OP, yes, I just had a plow truck come through. I'm in the Town of Islip.

THIS! The roads were fine this morning.
Seriously, these poor workers have been out doing at the very minimum, 12 hour shifts every day since Sandy.

Nope, but I think they're all very busy with the Sandy cleanup. They are telling us in NYC to expect garbage pickup to be sporadic since they are diverting resources to the hardest hit areas. We didn't get recycling pickup last week for that reason

Wow really?
Hopefully you've re-thought this statement.
1) They are completely overstressed at the moment and
2) Until yesterday they were saying any snow accumulation would be minor of any, so they didn't even have a week's notice.
