How did you let your LO CIO without waking up your older children? When DD2 wakes up in the middle of the night, I run to get her because I don't want her to wake DD1 up. How am I supposed to let DD2 CIO? Any advice?

I am in the same boat BUT my girls share a room. It's getting a little better. DD2 now sleeps from 7pm-3am then starts crying so I just run in and nurse her; then she falls back alseep til about 7am.
I realy want to wean her off that 3am feeding bc I think it's just out of habit now, but letting her CIO at 3am with DD1 in the room...UGH.

I feel the same way. DD2 wants a bottle around that time too. I feel bad not giving it to her because I feel like she is hungry but don't want her to get used to it. You have to see me run to her because I am afraid that I will have 2 screaming kids in the middle of the night. DD1 is a very light sleeper. They don't share the same room but are right next to each other! Ugh..it's frustrating!

Luckily DD1 is a very sound sleeper. But I agree with the others...a sound machine is a great idea. I have it really loud in their room which I think helps keep DD1 from waking up. We have the homedics lullaby one. It also has a projection on the celing.

If you have a Kindle - the white noise app on it works great for us. And it's free.

Somehow, my DCs have slept through the other ones crying...not sure how/why, but they stir a tiny bit, a quickly reassure them with a quiet, "Shhhh, go back to sleep" and they do.
My DCs are very young, though -- all 4 and under so they're still deep sleepers
