8-10 month old Mom's come in!

I am not sure if I am doing anything right Chat Icon Chat Icon

What are your schedules? What time do you put them to bed at night? What time do they get up? HOw many naps each day and how long is your LOs average nap? How many OZ a day and how much food? What foods are you doing now? What are some good snacks?

DS is still only able to stay up for 3 hours at a time before needing a nap. Naps have been transitioned into the crib and have went from 2hrs in the swing to 45 minutes in the crib. I EP so I give him what I make in a day which has taken a dive since I dropped a pumping session. I put him to bed between 7:45-8:15. I think he is drinking about 20oz a day, eats 3 jars of baby food with oatmeal.

TIA!

8-10 month old Mom's come in!

My DS is almost 10M and we never put him on a schedule. He gets up at about 6am and thats because we have to get up for work and get him to daycare. he goes to bed around 8-9. He picked that time early on and we just went with it. Naps are when he is tired. I don't beleive in forcing my DS to go down at a certain time or waking him from a nap....depending on the day he might take 2 naps or zero naps.

Food - he gets 3 meals a day now so breakfast is roughly 830, lunch is noonish and dinner is 630-7pm. Bottle vary but he always gets one a 6 when we wake up.

Re: 8-10 month old Mom's come in!

DS is 10months next week.

Schedule....I don't go crazy over schedules. His needs vary from day to day just like mine do but roughly here's how it goes:

6-645am- wakes up (we cosleep for part of the night...like 2 am on so he tends to get up when I get out of bed unless he's really tired)

7am breakfast- yogurt and banana or some other fruit, we don't do grains or processed food.

between 9 and 10 he'll go down for a nap (1 hour usually)

after he wakes up he has a snack- grapes, carrots or something

between 1 and 3 he goes down for another nap (2 hours usually)

When he wakes up he'll have chicken and avocado, soup or something filling.

When we get home at 6.30 he will sit with us at the dinner table for a snack, usually apple sauce or pears. I let him pick off my plate as well if he wants.

bedtime is anywhere between 7.30 and 8.30, depends on how tired he is.

I still nurse him and feed on demand so he gets milk (me when I'm around or a bottle) when he requests it.

Re: 8-10 month old Mom's come in!

My DS will be 10 months on sunday.

He doesn't have a set schedule but he does follow a routine of sorts.

During the week he wakes up at 5:45 so I can bring him to my moms, and on weekends I try not to get him out of bed before 6:30. Here is an example routine for him (times vary per day)

6:30- wakes up, change, breakfast fruit oatmeal mixture, table food which is usually fresh fruit. THis is followed by 5 oz bottle.

7:30-9:30 activity time. He goes in the exersaucer, crawls around, plays with toys, reads books. He usually tires himself out and will take a good morning nap.

9:30-10:30 nap in crib. This can be anywhere from 45 minutes to 2 hours.

10:30 6 oz of milk.

10:45-1:30 activity time. My mom takes him to a class once a week. To the play ground, shopping, the library. On the weekends, I will take him to do errands- grocery shopping, ect. Sometimes he will have a cat nap- 20-30 minutes but not always.

1:30- lunch. This is table food, example- chicken and a sweet potato, fresh fruit. Followed by 5 oz of milk.

2:00-5:30. More activity time. Listening to music, dancing, reading books, going for a walk etc. He also usually get a snack during this time. Puffs, fresh fruit, teething cookie type thing. I struggle and my mom struggles to get him to nap at this time. Hopefully he will take a cat nap but sometimes he is literally up from 1:30 until bedtime.

5:30/6:00- dinner. He usually eats whatever we are eating plus a pureed veggie. He drinks a cup of water (sometimes more) in a sippy cup.

6:30- start getting him ready for bed by giving him a bath and getting his pjs on, play for a little bit.

7:30 last bottle which is 7 oz. If he did not nap at all in the late afternoon, then he will fall asleep after his bottle. If he took a nap in the afternoon then he will usually be wide awake after his bottle and I will let him play until no later then 8:30, at which time I will just put him in his crib. So hopefully, the latest he goes to bed is 8:30.

He gets anywhere between 23-25 oz of milk a day.

Hope this helps and you are doing a great job! =)

Re: 8-10 month old Mom's come in!

ds #2 is 9 months old in a few days.

wakes 6:30am, 6 ounce bottle
7:30am oatmeal and fruit
9am nap for hour and a half
10:30 bottle 6 ounces
11:45pm yogurt and fruit
1pm nap for hour and a half
3pm bottle 6 ounces
4:30 dinner: veggie & fruit
6:30pm bottle and bed

although i think he's going down to 3 bottles a day now since he's not finishing some of them and only taking 4 ounces at bed lately.

*not a strict schedule since it gets interrupted with ds#1's drop off and pick ups from prek and various other things going on.

Re: 8-10 month old Mom's come in!

DD is going to be 9 months old in four days. We don't have a strict routine, more like a loose outline for our days Chat Icon I still EBF on demand.

Wakes up between 6:30-7am, nurse

8am-breakfast, usually oatmeal, yogurt, or pancakes

9:30-10am-nurse and nap. She's hit or miss with naps. Can be anywhere between 30 min-1.5 hours.

12pm-lunch.

I'll try to put her down for an afternoon nap sometime around 2. Sometimes she goes down, sometimes not. I keep trying every 30 minutes or so if she gives me a hard time. Afternoons are usually a quick 20-45 min catnap. During this time, she'll nurse again once.

5:30-6pm-dinner

7pm-nurse and sleep

She still wakes up once or twice a night to nurse, the first time usually around 11-12 and the second time around 3-4am.

Re: 8-10 month old Mom's come in!

My DS schedule is different every day due to services and doctors appointments but here is what we try to follow. He is with my parents 3 days a week, my husband one and then he comes to work with me on Thursdays. I try to stick to the same one but it does vary. He does not like bottles and is not a bottle boy. I have just started to give him formula in a cup and in 2 weeks will move him on to a sippy cup.

wake up 5:45- 6:45 wish it was later especially on the weekends. Ill try a 2oz bottle with his medicine but most of the time it does not want it.

7-8 breakfast, oatmeal and 5oz of milk mixed in with a fruit.

9-10 nap sometimes he sleeps for 45 minutes other times for my mom he will sleep for 2 in a half hours.

11-12 lunch meat, veggie oatmeal with 2oz or more milk

nap between 2-4 and if no nap a yogurt or a yogurt when he wakes up

dinner 5-6 veggie, meat, fruit some oatmeal
in 2 weeks we will be off the baby food and sticking to making our own food and back to regular food

Ill try another bottle at 7 or so but he usually won't take it

bedtime 7-7:30
