Does anyone w/DS who is uncircumcised have trouble keeping penis clean?
I asked my OB what he thinks the benefits of circumcision are. All he said was so DS can look like DH. And that uncircumcised is harder to keep clean...that gunk can accumulate.
I thought that was a myth.
-Does anyone w/DS who is uncircumcised have trouble keeping penis clean?
-And can you share how you keep it clean?
It's my understanding that the foreskin should not be retracted. And that the first person to ever retract it should be DS himself - age 3+
TIA

Ds is not circumcised. I never had a problem keeping it clean when he was a baby. When he was about 5, he had a situation where he was messing with it in the shower, pulled it way back and it got irritated and a little inflamed. I took him to the pediatrician, but nothing needed to be done and it was fine. That's literally the only issue that has ever occurred with his private parts. That whole "keeping it clean" thing is a myth.
I know 6 boys my DS's age that have had to be recircumsized or needed surgery due to botched circumcisions. No one can make this decision but you and your DH, but I personally don't believe in messing with what nature made except for a religious reason.
How are you feeling? How are the babies doing?

Hey! I am starting to feel better thanks to my chiropractor! The babies are doing better. Eating up a storm! Which keeps us busy!!
Thanks for the info :)
It helps me process my decision by talking it out & hearing about others' experiences & seeing what resonates for me.

No problems at all, I come from another country and we don't circumcise, never heard of anyone having problems with their sons keeping it clean. My sister has 2 boys,no problems. You just clean it like any other body part, don't have to do anything special to keep it clean. Most of the world's population of men is uncircumcised ;)
