What do you do to keep toothbrushes clean? where do youo store them?

They say the best place to store them is in the medicine cabinet. And you can boil them for 5 minutes to sterilize.

I'm afraid to boil them...that they'll melt! We keep a LARGE supply of replacements, which we need often! His singing Thomas toothbrush doesn't even go in his mouth anymore, since it's touched so much! He's happy holding it while I brush his teeth.

We have these little covers that go over on top. I think they're used for traveling. We also have a toothbrush holder similar to this:
