Ecofriendly diapers and wipes...are they really better?
I'm really big into the whole recycling, reusing stuff, cleaning beaches, using ecofriendly cleaning products for the environment and most importantly because I feel it's safer for my family. That being said, I use regular diapers and Babyganics wipes because the diapers are so expensive but the Babyganics wipes are affordable. I wanted to cloth diaper but I'm having a hard time ever since I have my second 7 months ago and just need for things to be as easy as can be for me while I try to get a grasp on mothering two and staying home.
My point is this. Are they really better for the baby and environment? The box says chorine free, that's what I told dh and he said that ds goes to swim lessons every week in a big ol pool of chlorine. I feel like that's a necessary evil and its for a half hour once a week, not 24/7 sitting in it kwim?
Are they worth spending double the price of pampers which are $$$ alone but double...geez!

imo
unless your kid has allergies or something, no
the real ecofriendly diapers are cloth and elimination communication

I don't know much about them, I'm actually in the process of starting cloth diapers, for your same reasons, but I just wanted to say.... Isn't it so frustrating how everything ecofriendly has to be so expensive!! They should be cheaper!! Or at least comparable!!
Sorry for my rant ;)

I use babyganics because DD has very sensitive skin and is prone to terrible diaper rash
for her they are better because they don't irritate

Re: Ecofriendly diapers and wipes...are they really better?
LIke a pp said if you want to be ecofriendly I believe cloth is the way to go. I tried about 10 different diapers for my son because he had an allergy. The only diapers that do not break him out besides cloth are the ones from the Honest Company, and I just can't afford that. My decision to do cloth was the allergy, but honestly I can't afford special diapers. Cloth is so much cheaper and I have 2 in diapers. FM anytime and I would love to help. I was so intimidated by it, but once I got them and did a load I was fine. Even my husband has said he is glad we switched and says he can;t wait to cloth diaper another right from birth in the hospital. Lol this from the man is uses 1/2 a roll of toilet paper because poop makes him feel ill
