if we bring our own stroller, do we need a lock or something? Was just reading online about it.

Re: disneyworld

We bought a stroller lock to use, but I felt like I was the only one there who was using one. I'm torn about it... it was a bit of a PITA to do each time, but I felt better knowing it was on. However, I was still nervous about someone stealing all the stuff I had loaded in my stroller (which no one did), so maybe try to ship souvenirs to your Disney resort (if you're staying at one) when you can or use lockers. (FYI... you can't ship to your hotel the day before yourechecking out...)

We've been to Disney 90000000 times but never with kids yet (DD is 6 mo)... I'm always surprised how nobody ever locks up their strollers. But nobody does. Like PP says I'd it it the amount of valuable items u put in there/leave in there- send souvenirs to ur resort/ take valuable stuff with u when u leave stroller.

I feel like when we goi will want to lock up mine, ESP since it's on the $$$$ side.

Another FYI- be careful with leaving food.. I've seen squirrels rummaging through people's strollers with food in them while they were on a ride/attraction & the people were nowhere to be found. Even the idea of a squirrel climbing on my stroller if there is no food on it revolts me lol

We went in April, over Easter so it was very crowded, and did not use a lock. I think it would have been more of a pain than anything. I had a separate bag that I brought on rides with me that had all our valuables, wallet, park tickets etc. So the only things in the stroller were food, diapers and baby care items.

We had no issues at all.

We have been to Disney numerous times, and never locked the stroller. I do not have a fancy stroller though. I've never had a problem with people stealing our stuff either. I don't leave valuables in there though (common sense). I have however walked off with another stroller that looked like mine. Of course I put it right back as soon as I realized. So tie something to the handles or get one of those cute personalized stroller spotters. This lady makes really cute ones!

Re: disneyworld

I only used my MacClaren but did not lock it. I think it being taken or stolen is a small risk. I did put ribbons on it to identify it and never had an issue. hth

Re: disneyworld

We had originally bought a lock, but returned it once someone told us that they might cut it off. The attendants have to be able to move the strollers around to make room. Not once did we have anyone but an attendant touch our stroller. We even kept gifts and our stuff in it (hidden as best we could of course). People were really respectful of each other's things.

As long as your stroller has something on it that will differentiate it from the others, you'll be fine. Ours was a chicco double stroller with a rain cover (get a rain cover!!), and I didn't see anyone with our same stroller the entire time we were there.

Re: disneyworld

nope. I never even thought about it.

I brought my 'cheap' red stroller. Right before we left, AJ and I sat down and decorated it with purple spider tinsel (so i could identify it). She loved that part!

We got to the park and found out my cheap umbrella stroller was THE TO BUY in Disney (every shop had it) Chat Icon Thank god I decorated it! I had a backpack/camera bag for my D90 and it has a pouch up top. We carried that with us. We left water, maps, sunglasses, sunblock and towels in the stroller. Worked out fine.

We do the same for Sea World and Six Flags

Re: disneyworld

And yes, the attendants DO move the strollers so the lock doesn't sound like a good idea.

Yep.
I was a little concerned, but had no issue at all. I attached tulle ribbon in cinderella blue, red & yellow on the sides & handles to easily identify.

At night I attached glow bracelets to find when its dim too.

We didn't bring a lock. I wish I had brought something to identify it better - I have a black City Mini double so you can imagine it was difficult since so many of the rental companies use them as well!

Re: disneyworld

I have bought a ski lock and I have locked the front wheel to the frame. They can still move it but no one can use it if they stole it.. I have seen others use them.. I have never had anything taken out of our stroller. Take a small bag for your valuables.
