Taking blood at one
My  has to go for blood since he just turned one. They will be checking for lead and I think do a blood count. What does this entail? Do they take vials of blood or prick the finger? Thanks in advance!

When we went, we sat in a chair, ds on my lap and i held his arm. They took a vial or 2 cant remember

It's vials. Ask you dr for a child friendly lab if they don't do the blood in house. My dr recommended a place in bethpage for me.

Our was a finger prick, just a test for lead and blood level counts (iron.) His iron was low so he was retested again at 10 months (first at 9 months) and today at 12 months. Its better now, phew! All three were fine, just a flinch from DS.

When my DD had it done it was a few vials of blood. Not going to lie, it was a hard few minutes to sit and watch. She was screaming bloody murder.

DS had a half a vial of blood taken by finger prick!!! It was the worst thing ever!!! It took 3 nurses, a dr, and the lab tech to hold him down and get the blood...He hated the dr's office after that.... At 2 they were going to do it again and I said no. We went to the lab.. All over in a few minutes

Taking blood at one
DS had a finger prick and they took maybe 20 or so drops of blood. But it was taken in office I didn't have to go to a lab.
