help with veggies

I have the hardest time getting my 18 mth DD to eat veggies so I usually buy the Plum Organics pouches and she gobbles them up.

Re: help with veggies

i just read this on another forum and thought of this post.....

My husband and I have one of those cheese graters like at an Italian restaurant. We take frozen veggies, put them in the cheese grater, and grate it over whatever our daughter is eating. They're 'sprinkles' not veggies!

DD will eat any pouches that I give her, so I make sure any of the ones that I buy have veggies in them.

Re: help with veggies

She loves pasta & tomato sauce so I just started pureeing zucchini & adding it to tomato sauce, so far it's a hit!
Tomorrow I'm going to put chopped spinach in some ground beef & make her a hamburger, we'll see how it goes.
You can also add stuff to pancakes if you puree it. I've only done apple sauce but you can probably do some kind of veggie in there too, maybe carrots since they're kind of sweet.
These little ones can be a real pain in the buttChat Icon

Plain yogurt mixed with pumpkin purée or winter squash purée. Add a dash of cinnamon too!

Re: help with veggies

Here is a little trick that worked for us.

Say you have lunch every day at 12. After breakfast don't offer anything, no snacks, no juice, nothing but water. Make sure they are hungry for lunch.

At 12:15, set up table for lunch, but put nothing but veggie there. Eat them yourself, play a game. For example with broccoli, I say "you eat the flowers and I'll eat the stem" and so he bites off the tops and leaves the stems for me. Talk about the texture, color, flavor (sweet, salty, crunchy, mushy). Then offer lunch.
