Re: Would YOU have this corrected & can anyone suggest a Ped Podiatrist?
I wouldn't do anything about it. I'm sorry I don't know any pediatric podiatrist, maybe check your insurance?

Would YOU have this corrected & can anyone suggest a Ped Podiatrist?
I personally would maybe go for a second opinion but if it isnt going to affect him then i wouldnt put him thru surgery to get it corrected....i couldnt tell until you pointed it out

Re: Would YOU have this corrected & can anyone suggest a Ped Podiatrist?
I would definitely go to a podiatrist (maybe call one near you and ask if they know of any ped specialists? or can your ped recommend one?) and get a second opinion.
I would want to know if it would affect how he walks later on in life and if it would affect him in any other ways
if not and just cosmetic, then you can make a decision if you would put him thru surgery for it or not (and what that surgery entails)

Re: Would YOU have this corrected & can anyone suggest a Ped Podiatrist?
My toes are like that and I've never had any problems. I never even noticed it until I was in grade school and another girl was showing off how she could grab a pen with her toes because they were "stuck together". I tried to do it (I couldn't ) but that's when I noticed. It's never been a problem but it never hurts to get a medical opinion. Edited to add: I excelled in sports Including track, tennis, gymnastics and softball. I've seen other people with toes like that and I think it's just cosmetic.

I have it on both feet. Does your daughter just have it on one foot?

I would contact a podiatrist and see what they say. Not that i wouldn't trust my Dr, but i would want a specialists opinon and possibly an cray just to make sure its not a deeper issue

I know someone who's DD was born with "webbed toes" The the little girl had it on both feet. I believe three toes on each foot were webbed. The three middle toes. For cosmetic reasons she finally decided to do the surgery when her DD was about 5 years old. the little girl had no issues with walking or running. It was purely cosmetic. The little girl was in foot casts for many weeks. Was not allowed to put any pressure for weeks. No walking, running, standing. I'm sorry I don't know the full details of the surgery. Definitly get some opinions from specialists.

My friend's toes are like this on both feet, and all 3 of his kids inherited his "webbed feet". They are all fine. No one notices it unless he points it out.

I showed my DH who is a podiatrist and he said if its not bothering DC then it's ok to leave. It would then be an elective procedure. It's not abnormal just a genetic variant.

My toes are like this... But less so fused (maybe because I'm older). Hubbies toes and DS are overlapping an DH was captain of a soccer team. I'm in the let things be & see what it looks like in a year camp.

I would probably leave it be. I know plenty of people who have webbed toes and have no issues.

Re: Would YOU have this corrected & can anyone suggest a Ped Podiatrist?
my son has the same thing on one of his feet and to add to that, his second toes are not quite formed 100% correctly. You really have to look at them to notice and as he has grown, its gotten better.
we saw a ped orthopedist at 6 weeks and he suggested doing nothing UNLESS it impacted walking (which is has not). My only concern is flip flops he cannot wear them.
We may one day do the surgery to seperate them but even then, there is no guarantee it will heal 100% the way we went.
If this is the worst we have to deal with, I will TAKE IT!
