Reflux moms
So ds#2 is 8 1/2 months old and has been on prilosec compound form since 2 months old. He gets it twice a day.
We slowly weaned him off. For 2 weeks we only did the morning dose and then cut it in half for a week and then nothing.
Ever since then, his naps are only 30 minutes long no matter what we do. He also lets out little cries during the night ever since we stopped it.
But he doesn't spit up anymore and he used to spit up the whole bottles. Occassionally he'll spit up a teaspoon or less of what looks like milk curd. But that's it.
I just can't figure out if we should put him back on it or not. He seems okay but then again he's not napping long and he lets out cries during the night (but doesn't wake). But his bottom 2 teeth are also coming in.
advice? how did you know your little one was ready to wean?
with #1 he only needed zantac and when we weaned him, he would scream in pain again during bottles so we knew he still needed it. But #2... i'm not sure.

I don't think so. My 1st had silent reflux. My 2nd doesn't. He would spit up whole bottles.
i don't think you can have the regular reflux and silent reflux at the same time, can you?

Re: Reflux moms
We wound up going from reflux, spitting it all up, to silent reflux.
We used to just add a little oatmeal to everything to help it settle more in the stomach and that helped alot!
