Is your heat on?
DH put the heat on this morning and when I got up it I turned it down to 63-65. Our house is pretty well insulated.
ETA: I put warm pjs on DS and when I'm home I'm usually cooking so the house gets warm. I personally prefer a cool house.

Re: Is your heat on?
yesterday we still had the windows open. This morning I was tempted, but refused. Cooked some breakfast to warm up a little and layered everyone...except DS#2 who insists on being naked!

Re: Is your heat on?
We did for a little bit yesterday to take the chill out of the house. DS' hands and feet were cold so we turned it on for a little bit

Heck no. We usually don't turn on our heat until mid November. Besides, we only keep the heat between 62-64 in our house anyway so there isn't much of a point turning our heat on now.
ETA - I actually have a few windows open I agree!! With oil as expensive as it is, I don't turn on the heat until the last possible second. And even when the heat is on, we keep it low (around 62). It would make no sense to turn it on yet. We just put DD in long sleeves and a blanket and she's fine.

Is your heat on?
I turned it on last night. DS 2 woke up and his arms were frozen (in his long sleeved jammies with sleep sack).

No! I hate paying for heat, it has to get pretty cold for me to turn it on. We just all wear hoodies if it's chilly.
Do you not consider heat a necessity and priority? I never understood how people did not include that in their monthly utility bill.
I answered the first time you mentioned this but again, usually keeping your house cool is just preference, as it is for me. I haaaaate a hot house.
And while you do include heat in your monthly bills it makes sense to not jack up your heat too high, if you can tolerate a cooler house then it makes financial sense to do so as oil prices are insane. Every degree cooler you keep your house will save a ton of $$$$.
We use budget billing for our oil and electric bills and I have to say that the oil bill is not much more than others when compared (we pay 12 months out of the year) and our electric bill went down this year after using our AC almost 24/7. Our house is well insulated though, even though it is over 40 years old so that might help.

Heat to me is very important and don't understand why people put it far down on their list of necessities and far down on their budget.

It's hard to budget when oil is almost 4.00 a gallon . My heat is on bc I hate the cold and I have LO's that need the house warm
I'm annoyed tho , I'm going to have a big oil bill so early in the season
That is why we have ours on budget as I know for 12 months how much I will have to put aside each month to be able to have the heat on whenever we want (or the AC with the electric bill on budget).

Not for you to understand, some people have a different threshold for colder temperatures.?.? What a bizarre comment to make and twice no less. I don't see anywhere where anyone stated that it wasn't a necessity, a priority or that they don't budget for it. All I saw were some ladies saying no, it is not on yet, not cold enough for them to need/want to turn it on.
I understand that some people like it colder, I have one child who is always warm-lol. I am speaking of the people who say they won't put it on until a certain time of year no matter the temperature and will just put more clothes on to stay warm.
