Since becoming a SAHM...
Just left my job in May. My new job has become...
chauffeur, personal jungle gym (bc my boys climb, crawl and hang all over me), the line leader or train conductor, chef, housekeeper, personal shopper, etc.
I love every minute of it, but boy it's a lot tougher than I thought. End of the day when they are both in bed by 7 I am done. Although I've learned to relax and have a glass of wine once in a while at night and I no longer feel guilty if I go out with my girl friends.
I didn't have to clean aa much bc we weren't home all day. Now I clean a lot. I can't believe how fast the days fly.
I have a 1 and 3 yr old. Both boys and total opposites, but they're my monsters and keep me on my toes.
Tell me your SAHM jobs!
Btw... Had these jobs when I worked too, but I got to do stuff at lunch or online. Easier when the boys aren't grabbing my iPad.

Let's see, I am the appointment scheduler, the shopper, the errand girl, the maid, the laundromat, the chauffeur, the cook, the bill payer, the entertainment, the finder of all things lost, and on and on and on. The SAHM list of duties is endless. lol As tired as I am by 7-8pm I love it!!............don't miss working at all.

Re: Since becoming a SAHM...
It's so funny to read this because I was just at work yesterday and the woman were lamenting how they would love to be part time!! I work part time, which is 2 12.5 hrs a week where I am a caretaker, of sorts.. I split a shift with someone because THEY needed it and I got attitude.. I told her that BEFORE I came in @ 1250p.. Igot both kids off to school, went shopping, went to the butcher , made dinner, did laundry, clean all the bedrooms, bathrooms, living room and kitchen while I am telling my hubby what also neede to be done..that being written, I love being to work & stay home, it is ALOT but that's life.. The real charmer would be being a trophy wife!!!!

Re: Since becoming a SAHM...
The list is ENDLESS!!!! My husband works in the ER & yet 99% of the time I am the house Dr!!!!
My DH coworkers think it's hysterical that he can call & within 2 sec I can tell him his future schedule. I handle all house/schedule things!

Re: Since becoming a SAHM...
Ha yes feels like I have so many jobs. Referee seems to be at top of my list, I have 2 boys, going on 2 yrs and my other is turning 4. And yes the cleaning is an all day thing. It's definitely a hard job especially since my hubby gets home late but wouldn't trade it for my corporate world job.

Ah yes... Add a ref as well bc the boys are wrestling. I'm like Doc Mcstuffins since I fix the toys and if I don't want to fix one I tell them that daddy can fix the toy.

Re: Since becoming a SAHM...
How do you get the kids to bed by 7? I'm jealous! My kids are closer to 9 pm
I'm a driver, referree , pooper scooper, housekeeper, chef , teacher, appoinment maker, activity finder , social calendar scheduler, vacation planner, financial planner, bill payer!
The house is always a mess somewhere clean one end, time to clean the other. I have 2 boys, so exhausting
I love being home with them, but have many days I wish I were working. I'm really grateful I didn't have to leave db # 2 to work. Leaving db 1 was heartbreaking for me. So I will take all the good and hard days too

Re: Since becoming a SAHM...
lets see..i was laid off in May but was working part time. I also have a business I run from home.
So im constantly juggling emails, printing orders, shipping packages, running errands, cleaning, bill payer/banker, scheduler, entertainment, waitress, maid, etc. and taking care of DS. (he goes to daycare part time still even though I was laid off..1-2days a week.)
its F*** exhausting. Some days work seems like a vacation.

Re: Since becoming a SAHM...
All that were mentioned above, but most of all, I would say a cheer leader/ clown.
I spend most of my day doing ridiculous things (singing & dancing to kids songs, putting funny things on my head, showing my belly button) what ever it takes to entertain my 14 month old & keep her from being cranky.

I took away my 3 yr old naps bc he was going to bed too late and cranky when he was getting up from his naps anyway. My boys have been early sleepers, but up around 6:30ish. My 14 month old takes one nap and he's done that for a while. That time after they go to bed keeps me sane... Sometimes. Lol

Since becoming a SAHM...
I work from home around 30 hours a week. I have a 8 1/2 month old DS. I start in the morning my being a milk machine (I still pump), a maid, a worker, a cook, cleaner, laundry worker, errand runner, back to worker, milk machine again, activity planner, worker again, cleaner, milk machine etc etc. It runs all day like that. I wouldn't change anything in the world...Ok maybe if I was rich I would hire a mothers helper to keep him occupied while I work and 1 coworker to sit at my desk because I miss having coworkers.
