Pumpkin Picking w/ 4 1/2 month old?
Is this realistic or not? DH & I have never been pumpkin or apple picking & I thought it would be nice for our first outing as a family – and I want to get pictures of DS with the pumpkins! We live in eastern Nassau so it will be a drive to get out East (unless there are any farms in Nassau or western Suffolk??). Are the farms infant-friendly? Can you walk around them with a stroller? Can you please recommend a farm to go to?
TIA!!

Re: Pumpkin Picking w/ 4 1/2 month old?
I just took my almost 7 month old DS yesterday pumpkin picking. We went out further in the baiting hollow area to Harbes farm. It was very family and baby friendly. We pushed DS in his stroller and then took him out and help him in the pumpkin patch. We took a picture of him in the pumpkin wagon we used. I got a whole bunch of great pictures!

Re: Pumpkin Picking w/ 4 1/2 month old?
last year DD was almost 5m old when we went and it was so much fun!! we just went for like an hour and took cute pics. here she is last year:
and an early pic from this year -16m old - same place -
we went to Martin Viette nursery on Northern in East Norwich (its between 106 and 107 so its fairly convenient). we usually go during the week when it's empty, and we go a few times during the season. we will def go at least 2 more times this year! i highly recommend it because its much easier than a true orchard with a stroller. you can pretty much prop the baby up anywhere. they have pumpkins already picked (thats where we took these pics) and they have a patch also with cute things to take pics and tractors that you can prop them on and a petting zoo. and you can bring the stroller most places there too. its small enough to be easy with the really little ones. next year maybe we will go to a patch and really pick a pumpkin but for now this is PERFECT.
have fun!

we went yesterday with my 4.5 month old and 3 yr old. it was fine.
we went to stakeys.
i would avoid a place like white post farms with a 4 month old - it gets pretty crazy and full there. Image Attachment(s):

Re: Pumpkin Picking w/ 4 1/2 month old?
We took DS last year when he was 4 months. I love pumpkin picking and I wasn't going to skip it just b/c of DS!
We went to Hank's which is probably a bit of a hike for you. But it was great. We had no problems bringing the stroller in and were even able to take the stroller into the corn mazes. We had so much fun and can't wait to back this year.
And pics are easy b/c you can prop them up between pumpkins

Re: Pumpkin Picking w/ 4 1/2 month old?
yep. Did apple picking last month with 4 month old and will do pumpkin picking this month.
It's beautiful weather and good for her to be outdoors. Yes, I use it as a photo opportunity.
Have fun.
