When did your DC smile?

My DD is almost 7 weeks old, and she still doesn't smile in reaction to us. She only smiles when she has gas/in her sleep. We are going through some serious stuff with her right now and DH and I would feel a little bit better if we could just see a genuine smile and see some happiness in her face! When will this happen?

At one month she started smiling but only on the changing table! I think she liked to be able to see our faces up close there. Every baby is different though. I'm sure the smiles will start soon.

Re: When did your DC smile?

My little guy just started smiling to us at 5 weeks. But don't get discouraged, she'll start smiling as soon as she is comfortable to do so. Hang in there!

Re: When did your DC smile?

With the twins- G smiled at 5weeks, D at 7 weeks. Older DS was 7 weeks but it took alot to get a smile from him!
It'll happen soon!

Re: When did your DC smile?

DD#1 was right around 6-7 weeks.
DD#2 was around 2-3 weeks (but that's part of her illness).

Don't worry, I'm sure it will come any day now!

Re: When did your DC smile?

8 or 9 weeks. He was three weeks early so all of his early milestones were delayed about 2-3 weeks.

Re: When did your DC smile?

I caught a few smiles on camera with DS1 at 1 month. He started smiling more around 6 weeks. DS2 smiled a little at 5 weeks and really started smiling at 6 weeks.
