Sippy cups?

When do you start using sippy cups and what do you put in them?

Right now the babies take 2 bottles of BM per day.

I was thinking I should start giving them a little water in the sippy? Should I try having their caregiver give them the BM int the sippy?

They are 7 months actual, 5.5 months adjusted.

Re: Sippy cups?

I started around 9 months. Which I think is kind of late. We started with a little water and the tiniest splash of juice.

I think there's no harm in trying it now. If they don't take to it you can always put them away and try again in a few weeks.

6 months, 4 adjusted. I offered water several times a day. in different cups till we found one they liked.
at first it was a toy, i let them do whatever they wanted, but kept putting back into position for them till they got it. It took a month or so. only water as practice.

Re: Sippy cups?

DS was a little under 6 months when I tried water in a soft spout sippy cup. He took to it right away.
