Teething at 3 months?

For the past two weeks, DD has started drooling when upright, and is now constantly putting her hand to her mouth, as well as any fabric that she can get there. She has started sucking on the pacifier furiously as well. Does this sound like the start of teething? I'm not ready!! Chat Icon

DS has been doing this since 2 months and still no teeth at 5 months lol. Everyone keeps saying he's teething but it's been awhile now.

Re: Teething at 3 months?

They could be signs of teething, but they're also normal parts of development at that age. DS1 did the same things at that age. At his 4 month appointment, the doctor said his gums were swollen. The doctor mentioned the swollen gums at every well visit after that. DS1 was fussy at times during the night and I attributed it to teething. He didn't cut his first tooth until 13.5 months though.

DD has been doing this since about 3 months or so too. Still no teeth in sight. I think it's just what they do at that age.

Teething at 3 months?

It could be teething but they also go through and oral phase at this age. DS started about that time but did not cur his first tooth until 8 months......there was more droll over those months. He was always wearign a bib to keep his clothes dried.

DS started this around the same age and that all,I kept hearing was, "Oh he's teething! Look at the drool! Everything in his mouth!..." Teeth or no teeth, it's a part of their development. Babies drool, babies explore their world with their moth. DS finally got a tooth at 7 months. He still drools and put everything in his mouth at 13 months. I'm pretty sure this is status quo until about 2 yrs old...

Re: Teething at 3 months?

Dd has been doing this for a awhile as well... Went for her 4 month visit today and ped said there isn't even any sign of her two bottom teeth coming in so It could be a while. I was very late cutting my first tooth so I think dd will be too.

My dd (15 weeks) and has been doing this for about a month. Took her for her well visit last week and ped said she is not teething at all and it's part of their normal development.

Teething at 3 months?

I was told today this is a sign of their gums softening which will allow the teeth to come in around 5-6 months.

yup.. this

DS started drooling like crazy at 3 months, first tooth around 4 months and was pretty much non stop drooling until 11 mos. He's just started it back up again and lo and behold.. more teeth coming in
Everything goes in the mouth, and he lived with bibs on for several months!
