Teething or minor cold? At 4 months...
My DD#1 didn't get her 1st teeth until 9.5 months...so I'm looking for moms with early teethers.
DD starting about 4-5 days ago started to drool a LOT more than usual (soaking onesies during the day). She is chewing on everything she can get her hands on AND taking a paci which until a few days ago wouldn't even consider or let you go near her with. She is nursing a lot less (on and off) and crying sometimes when she nurses - my supply is fine in anything I have extra milk. She has even bitten down a few times which she never does.
2 days ago her nose started running for about 20 mins total a day - totally clear - then it completely disappears - it mostly happens when she really gets cranky and starts to really drool and gnaw on things.
She has had no fever (98.1 - rectally whenever I have checked it).
I have felt in her mouth but don't feel anything. Then again I didn't feel anything with DD#1 until it broke thru the gum.
I'm giving her cold clothes, soothes to suck on, cold teethers, and a little bit of tylenol when she seems the most cranky. Is there anything else I should be doing? Or do you think it is a minor cold and not teething?

I think it could definitely be teething...b/c that i what happened with my DS. When he just turned 7 mo - he had a slight runny nose (totally clear) and no other cold symptoms at all for two days. Then I saw the tooth break through. He was also not sleeping good and not eating as good and cranky.

She seems to eat fine once the tylenol kicks in, and she can breathe fine thru her nose - I haven't needed to suction her. She doesn't have a cough. She also starts to gnaw a LOT less on things about 30-45 mins after she gets the tylenol. I really think it is teething but since DD didn't teeth until much later I'm just not sure.
