Could this be an allergy to rice cereal?
DS is going on his 2nd week of starting rice cereal, for the last 4-5 days he has been pooping everyday and today he actually pooped twice though the second poop wasnt much. Here is why I ask, DS doesnt normally poop everyday. He usually poops every 3-4 days so Im shocked to see him going everyday. Is this diarrhea?  His stool is not super soft, its its normal consistency. I ask because I know rice cereal can actually cause constipation but it seems to be having the opposite affect. He is acting fine, not in pain and going about his normal self. Should I be concerned?

Could this be an allergy to rice cereal?
I wouldn't think it was an allergy at all. I personally would think it was his body adjusting to the fact that it now has something physical to digest instead of just the BM/formula that he has been getting to this point.
Maybe put a call into the Dr if you want confirmation that this is normal.

i def would not think this is an allergy. as you start solids, the poop changes completely. pooping once a day or more than once a day is hardly cause for concern. just wait til you start fruits and veggies!! there is an entire spectrum of normal that comes with that!!

DS had the same thing happen. When we first started rice cereal he was only going once every 2 days or so. I thought the same as you that he would go even less with the start of rice. Nope not the case. He is very "regular" now and goes at least once a day if not more. Definitely not an allergy IMO

Their poop patterns, consistency, etc change a zillion times when you starts solids. Nothing to worry over.

Could this be an allergy to rice cereal?
We are at the same stage as you- started the cereal about 2 weeks ago. DD would only go every 3-4 days when EBF but with the Rice cereal she was going every day until recently. She is getting all backed up and hasnt gone in 2 days- hoping she will go today. We stopped the cereal and ped recommended starting Oatmeal since it has a laxative property to it. I think your LO is totally normal- I would be concerned if he wasnt going.
