Question about feeding baby avocado?
I just started DS on solids and I would like to try Avocado. It might be a stupid question, but how do I prepare it. Do I just open it up, mush it with spoon and feed it to him. Do I add something to it?

thats what i did! sometimes i added a little breastmilk to make it a little creamier.

I tried just mashing it and giving it to the babies, but they gagged! The second time around I pureed it in my mini prep so it was super smooth and added a little water too.

I just gave him guacamole. I can't cook to save my life and telling when exactly is the right time to cut an avocado didn't work for me, it was always either not ripe enough or going bad. He loved the guacamole and still does! I get the 100 calorie packs because anything larger and he doesn't eat it fast enough and it goes brown pretty fast. I think he had it at 7 months or so.

Same with DS....I thought it was an "acquired" taste. Meanwhile I went the opposite way, I used to hate them and now I love them!

Question about feeding baby avocado?
I used to mix it up in the magic bullet with a little breast milk or formula. I'd freeze whatever she didn't eat and give it to my DDs like ice cream the next few days.

DD used to think that the avocado was a little thick and hard to eat, so I'd add something to it. Her favorite combinations were avocado/applesauce and avocado/squash.

I can't cook for my life either. I just make DH do it for me. Haha Hes the cook it the family.

I mushed a very ripe avocado with a fork and thinned it with a little breastmilk. Not the most appealing combo, but DD loved it.

I buy the large box of them at Bjs but they also have them at stop and shop I believe the brand name is wholly guacamole

I just puree it in the baby bullet and he loves it! The foods I make are always on the thicker side, so he is used to it.
