What about taking a train?
It costs way too much for the train.. I am not afraid of driving. I actually prefer it. I just want to know if anyone else has done it before.. I have AAA. I have been all over with DS by myself before. From NH to West Virgina. I know it sounds crazy to some, but I like to bring him to different places. I have family up and down the east coast. Just about in every state if something would happen, I know they would come to me..
I don't necessarily mean afraid of the car breaking down. I mean moreso God forbid you get violently ill, or pass out, kwim? You just never know and I personally would be afraid to take a trip that long with one child and no other adults.
But if you feel comfortable, go for it.

My mom was a single mom and took us on long car trips all the time. She had no choice! It was just her. She did great and so will you. Go for it!

Did you consider the auto train? You drive to va (by dc) boRd the train with car- you sleep overnight they have private cabins with beds or juT a normal roomy seat. They serve. Nice dinner have tvs and show. Movie. Next morning you are in sanford fla! An hour from disney. Fun for dc and not stressful for u.

We looked into that... SO pricey... We would use more then 1/2 our vacation budget on it... I have taken Amtrak to Disney once and to Miami, FL once and I liked it!!!
I am going to sit down and really look into it....
