Disney world hotel

Going with almost 2 year old. Suggestions where to stay that isn't super expensive, and won't take too much time to travel back and forth to parks. TIA!

I honestly believe they are all great! We've stayed at the All Star Music and thats in the "value" category. But we also have spent time at the Carribean Beach ("moderate"). All the hotels are all over, so it might be a 10 minute ride to one park, but 30 min to another. Next time we go we an to stay at the CB.

I love Pop Century, they have their own bus and they are now connected with the new Art of Animation by a bridge so you can eat there. My friend just came back and said that the dining room there is clean and the food is good.

I happen to enjoy Pop Century as well. We are not "sit down every meal at a restaurant" kind of people, and my kids are picky so I like the food court area. The rooms are smallish, but we don't spend a lot of time in them. We've stayed at deluxe resorts as well, and they are nice, just much more money. Never stayed at the moderate resorts.

If you are looking to stay off site, we have stayed at the Marriott Residence Inn in Lake Buena vista, which is a 5 minute or less drive from the Downtown Disney gates. Very spacious, free full hot breakfast buffet with Mickey Waffles, and they off a family suite.

Was looking at Caribbean beach and pop century. Was reading that travel time from cb can be long and that rooms at pop are small.

They have internal bus stops at CBR, so that is what slows things down. Pop Century has one bus stop, as do the other values (not sure about Animation). Not sure if all the moderate resorts have internal bus stops. There are pros and cons to each, so you just have to look at them all and see what you are willing to give to get, etc. www.allearsnet.com is a good site for room pictures, maps, etc.

If you feel the rooms at pop are small then you should try the new resort Art of Animation, they have suites there

Also all the Disney All Star resorts share a bus so the wait/travel time could be long

I stayed at Carribean beach a while ago.

It was OK. The rooms were kind of old, but I liked the perk of getting into the park early. The transportation system (buses) were slow... but we did like the little boats that you could take out and the hammocks and the beach. It was too cold for the pool.

For the price, I'm sure we could get a really nice resort off the Disney grounds.

We are considering a trip in Oct. 2013. DS will be 2.5 and baby # 2 will be 7 months. If we do go, we will be staying at the Animal Kingdom Lodge. DH and I stayed there before kids and it was so family friendly.

Re: Disney world hotel

I love Port Orleans French Quarter. I like that its a small property so no matter WHERE your room is, its close to the bus stop. With a small one that made life easier. There's a boat ride to Downtown Disney and the buses to the parks are super fast and always empty going and coming. We have our own bus until late late at night when you share with Riverside. Only "long" trip is to Animal Kingdom.

Re: Disney world hotel

There's a brand new Disney hotel that just opened that loos really cute, art of animation, I think it's one of their value resorts. We stayed at Polynesian this year and loved the convenience of the monorail but it's a little more $$.
