I always wrote a check but I had back to back to back weddings where the couples didn't cash the checks FOREVER so I decided it's easier for me to give cash.

I always do cash because we were going on our honeymoon that night/next morning and used the cash on the honeymoon!

Check. I didn't have any issues cashing checks made out to my married name. I just signed my married name even though I hadn't changed it yet. DH deposited it.

I do a check because I never think ahead to go and get "nice" bills from the bank to give. If I planned it out better, I would have given cash in the past, thinking it was easier for the couple . . . But after reading the recent posts, I will only give checks from now on. I would be beyond livid if another guest or employee stole my gift.

after a friend of my dh's got wedding money stolen at a wedding, we give checks, that happened in 2004.
dh used to give cash, until that happened. it happened to another friend of his in 2009. only cash was taken, all the checks were left behind.
