nipple sizing?
DD is almost 3 months old and I have been introducing bottles more recently since I am heading back to work. At what age did you move up from the size 1 nipple to the size 2 nipple? How did you know it was time to move up in nipple size? She has been using size 1 nipple but when reading the size 2 nipple package it says one month + I am at a loss since I have been breastfeeding her since day 1 TIA

Re: nipple sizing?
She was about 6 mos when we went up to level 2 - i did it when she had stopped spitting up so much.

Re: nipple sizing?
I tried around 4 months and she would throw up the entire bottle. She had reflux, so the dr said to keep her on the slow flow. If she drank too fast she would spit it all back up. We really didn't go to medium flow until around 8 months when her spit up/reflux kind of resolved on it's own.

We switched to level 2 with DS 1 around 3 months and with DS 2 around 5 months. It was taking each of them forever to finish a bottle.
We never switched past level 2 with DS 1 though - it was too fast for him and he'd scream.

Re: nipple sizing?
My LC recommended to keep my twins on slow flow or size 1 if I was going to keep on nursing them. The slow flow mimics the flow of the breast. HTH

Re: nipple sizing?
I never switched...didn't want the bottle to be easier than nursing! If I did it was when she was 11-12 months and cows milk was happening in the very near future...
If your little one is not complaining and she goes back and forth from breast to bottle I wouldn't change!

This! I asked a similar question on here recently & all the bf'ing mommas said to keep the slow flow/level 1 nipple so that's what I did/plan to keep on doing. DD is 4 months & I plan to bf until she's a year so I don't want the bottles to become too easy for her
