Does this make me a bad mom?
DS has been pushing my buttons all morning. I finally managed to pack up everything for the beach and he decided to tantrum and refuse to put his shoes on. So I placed him against the "timeout wall." Didn't put him in an official timeout but just wordlessly put him there. He has sat there without complaint, albeit without putting his shoes on, for the last 45 minutes. I have managed to straighten up the house, empty the dishwasher and put away a load of laundry.
Guess he "thinks" he is in timeout and waiting for me to get him out. Bad mom?

I think it will definately help him remember not to repeat - or at least as badly next time.

Don't think you're a bad mom at all but do you think he even remembers why he's there?! Just asking! :)

No! That was the point! I didnt do a timeout at all. I just put him in the spot that I would normally put him if I was going to actually do one.
I just kinda took advantage of him staying put!

I say smart mom If you can get him to sit still you might as well take advantage of it. & let's face it, taking real advantage would be going outside to sunbathe or something relaxing, you were still doing housework so definitely not a bad mom

I'm certainly not going to call you a bad mom, but I personally can not imagine letting my toddler sit in silence and ignoring him for 45 minutes, knowing that he believes he is in time out. Sounds really sad.
