Had a strange appt yesterday , can't stop thinking about it .
I saw a new Ob at my dr's office yesterday, she is new, new, as in fresh out of the residency, never met her before, yseterday was the first time, I usually see a high risk or another one who is another top OB in that office, scheduled for a CS with her.
But this OB was the only one available yesterday, first when she did the internal it hurt like he!! , never in my life I experienced such pain during an exam/ internal, I was sore all day and all night, whenI asked her how everything looks she said "I think it's fine, not dilated but the cervix feels soft to me, but not sure" 
Then she said bye and started walking out, I said what about the baby's heart beat? " OMG , I totally forgot to listen to the baby's heart beat" so she starts looking for a heartbeat and can't find it , took her few seconds but I was ready to grab her and shake her because I knew she was looking in a wrong spot (baby's head is down, very low and I know the area where they always find the heart, but she was looking all the way by where his feet end, lol) plus I could feel the baby moving and kicking the whole time she was looking. My husband was with me and I cold see him getting pi$$ed.
The whole appt was just so odd, I couldn't believe how confused and lost this woman seemed. This is supposed to be one of the top offices with top drs, I understand everyone needs to start somewhere but I felt like I was with someone who never even saw a patient before.
Felt kinda bad for her but also angry, maybe I'm hormonal and maybe I'm a B*** saying this but I truly hope I don't go in labor early and she is not the one on call that day

Space cadet that needs to work on her brain to mouth thing... I would be calling the office about it if i were you.

i would call the office and speak to your regular doctor and voice your concerns.
my office also has a new doctor (wonder if its the same office?) and i refuse to see her at any more of my visits because she was so unsure of herself and nervous during a basic routine appt. im terrified she is going to be the on call doctor if i need an emergency c section.

Idon't mind posting her name and the office, it's north shore OBGYN (Klein/Gilbert's office) this was dr.Rubin. A new dr who just joined the group...

OMG, I know we all start somewhere but I would be adamant that this woman NOT delivery my baby. It's one thing to kinda botch a routine visit if everything is otherwise ok but I wouldn't be willing to let her "learn" on my child's birth (unless she's just watching the real OB do his/her job). I allowed a resident to be at my birth but I told my OB I wanted HIM actually doing everything. I'd definitely talk to your doctor about this!

I am going to call the office and ask if she is ever on call, pretty sure the receptionist told me she is when I firstmade an appt , but want to confirm.
What bothers me the most is that I am high risk, heart issues + scar tissue problems ... That's why I have been driving out to LI every week for 37 weeks so I could be seen by high risk and/or top , experienced doctors.
It's enough that my high risk OB decided last minute -at 32 w - that he is not going to be available to do my CS, but thank god I was able to schedule it with another excellent OB in the same group, now it turns out THIS OB is on vacation until the week of the14th (my CS) so I was forced to make an appt with this new OB , thankfully next week's appt is wit Klein...
But I worry so much because it seems like the is a big chance I will go in labor before the scheduled CS and I am terrified that this new OB will end up doing my CS

The problem is that I don't thinkthere is much I can do about it if she is on call , can I? I mean I can't tell them I don't want her doing the CS bc I don't trust her ... I wouldn't wat to pi$$ her off.
I also feel like what if Isay something to Klein or Gilbert and then they say something to her

I think you can absolutely refuse med attention from her if you HAD to get a csection today and she was on call!!
Also I would just maybe suggest to the dr.s that she be shadowed for a little while until she gets the "hang of things". then let them ask you what happened.. kwim.

i would think that if someone is this new, they would make that new person make the rounds with a more experiences Dr. until they get their bearings. I would call to make sure there is no chance of this person delivering your baby

Yikes. Where'd she go to med school, Dumbass U? I'd be terrified to let that woman go near me for a csection. Who forgets to listen to the heartbeat at a prenatal appt???
You've had some real adventures with your office... I'd call and make sure that you're only seen by the people you trust from here on in.

This sounds like one of the hospital residents I had when I was in hospital delivering! Definitely voice your concerns..I also feel they should be accompanied by an experienced doctor to make sure they are doing things correctly. My hospital resident never was on the same page with checking dialation and effacement as the PA's, chief resident or my OB.. And she hurt me a lot too!

And honestly, if it comes down to this woman being on call when you go into labor, request another dr. who is in the hospital, she won't be the only OB there at the time and I wouldnt let her touch me to draw blood at this point. Too inexperienced to be dealing with cutting my body open.

I had a similar strange experience, but not due to the dr's inexperience, just his beside manner around my 25th week. I saw him only once and the visit went like this: "nice tan lines". And he walked out of the room-that was the visit. He is a good looking dr and very cocky. I had to hunt down the nurse and wait for her to read me the chart to tell me the heart rate and if everything was measuring ok.
I then told the front desk about it and requested never to be seen by him again.. And I wasn't.
Who was on call by the time I was ready to push?? Yep, him. He was still a douche, but I had a precarious situation while delivering and he was amazing. All the nurses got complaints about him, but said he is excellent in a such situations, and thats who they'd want delivering their baby.
I would def call the office and express your concerns

I think I am going to tell the OB I see next week that DH and I want to make sure this particular dr doesn't do my CS even if she is the one on call if I go in before my scheduled CS.
I won't get into details, I won't badmouth her, I'll just say I don't feel comfortable bc she is still new and bc of all my issues I need someone more experienced and that's it and hope they listen...

yup. I had a lab tech who was a b*tch twice to me. I called and spoke to the doc bc I am not about to go through 9 months of attitude for no effing reason. One time is ok, maybe you had a bad day but twice and 4 weeks apart? NO
Call them and let them know you were uncomfortable

Everything that you wrote here is just downright SCARY! First, I would somehow check her medical credentials, none of this sounds kosher to me. Second, I would definitely speak to the head DR in that office about this and refuse treatment by her indefinitely. This whole thing makes me sick!

Not much to check really, she doesn't have much of a history being an OBGYN. Still very new. Which is fine, again, we all have to start somewhere, but someone like her performing a CS I don't think would make me feel very comfortable.
DH doesn't think anything will come out of talking to the other 2 drs I have been seeing, he says if she is the one on call in case I go early they are not going to come in just for me, but I told him I am going to try and say something anyway.

I 100 percent agree with u not being comfy and even saying u want someone else if that is what u want,as a patient that is ur right
Idk internals hurt right? I mean some r rougher than others? The amount of things and people who have been up my who ha with yrs of IF some were rougher than others
As for the hb,maybe she was just looking around..maybe she really forgot..idk, maybe she had a off day
I totally get what u r saying and how it made u feel uncomfy and I am sure most would have too
I just kinda felt bad for her after this, I have had head scratching moments with all my docs,I always just chalked it up to a long day

Honestly I Don't really care about anything else, I mean yeah she semed very unsure and almost confused, ,yes she hurt me when doing an internal (and I think it was bc she didn't know what she was feeling based on her answer when I asked her if there is any change) and she did forget to listen to the heart beat, she said herself "OMG I forgot..." then took her forever to find it bc she was again, almost too nervous and was looking in a wrong area - it's not that hard to figure out that if the baby's head is very low , which she said it was and she could feel the head, then the heart is lower down rather than by my rib cage whe his feet are - but my main issue is that I just don't want her doing my CS if I were to go in labor early and she is the one on call.
It's one of those things where I wouldn't even be thinking about it if not for what happened yesterday, it was just too many things "wrong" in one appt, know what I mean?

It was a bit unsettling and I felt like I went with this practice because of the senior docs reputation. I went to the young doc. for a monthly just to meet him, and although he had a great bed side manner I felt like I needed someone with more experience..I think more mentally than anything...
So, I made sure my next apt. was with the preferred doc. and expressed my concerns..mainly that I went with this practice for his reputation and not for the newbie..and that I feel like with my high risk status I need someone who is more experienced. He totally respected it and when it came time to deliver, he was there with me in the delivery room.

Thank you , I am planning on talking to the high risk dr on Tue and maybe even calling andinsisting on talking to the other OB who is supposed to do my CS. I just worry, just like you the who,e point of me going to this office is and was to see high risk and experienced drs, not a new dr, and the thought of her possibly cutting me open to delives my baby scares me. Plus I know that there is 99% chance I will go in labor earlier than the schduled CS since I have already lost my MP and I'm almost positive that is neither of my OBs are there this new dr will be the one on call , they told me yesterday "she is on call a lot"
Well anyway, I know I can't stress about something that hasn't happened yet, so I will talk to my OBs and we shall see...

I would be pissed too and I would have asked for an attending to come and recheck me with the resident in the room so they know what they need to do. I'm sorry you had a bad experience
