Did you have a baby shower for #2?

We have a 3 year old and are ttc #2 now. I honestly gave everything single baby item away when we moved from long island to manhattan ( not thinking we would want another so soon). Now, my question is a shower or a sprinkle?

I only have one DD but quite honestly, I think it is tacky to have a shower again. If people want to give gifts that is fine but registering and having a big party just seems wrong because you gave your stuff away.

I only had a shower for DS. I didn't have one for DD.

I had a big shower when I was pg with DS. This time I had a small shower my friend threw for my DD... I didn't include registry info. People RSVPed to my mom and if they asked she told. If I was having another DS I wouldn't have bothered. However, I just went to a shower where it was for her second DS, born in the same season, just 2 years apart, and a lot of people attended. IMO every baby should be celebrated, and if people think its tacky they just won't attend.

My girls are 3.5yrs apart but lived in Long Island for the first and Texas for the 2nd. I never asked for a shower but both my friends and my coworkers at the time through a little "sprinkle" for me. It was very nice and unexpected.

I think you should do whatever you want...I've been to showers for people's 2nd and 3rd babies-full on showers. So many different baby things come out each year. Especially since you gave everything away.

Usually a sprinkle for #2 which is just a smaller shower. I would register either way. It's a good way to keep organized and you can get the completer coupon.

Nope - and there was a 5 year difference...IMO I really don't see a need for it if you still have everything from #1

I'm not because of lack of much family.

I think more of a sprinkle, people closer to you, not the whole wedding list.

i had a shower for #1 - boy born 5/10

i am pretty sure my sister is planning a sprinkle for #2 (a girl due in Jan) but it will be close family only.

I also planned a sprink for my sister for #2. It was very casual, no real invites, everything was done through a facebook event invite and had it at my house. Maybe 12 people total!

I am pregnant with #2 and my mom already mentioned having a sprinkle for me since there will be 4.5 yrs between my DD and this baby. I did save ALL the big things but I could use a refresh on little things like bottles, bibs, burp cloths, etc. This time around we are also finding out what we are having so if it's a boy I will need lots of clothes too!

ETA - I would say sprinkle for you, I think people would be a little put off by a full blown shower and by the expectation of having to purchase big ticket items since it wasn't that long ago since your last shower. Unfortunately, I think it's on you to repurchase those big items that you need.

Nope no shower or sprinkle with baby number two and I had a boy the second time around. I'm not a fan jmo

I had a shower for number one and nothing for numbers two. Then for number three my mommy friends threw me a big dinner party. Some brought gifts, some didn't. My mom thought it was ridiculous that they were doing anything for me but it made me feel so special and loved. I am so glad they did it. I say do what ever makes you happy and don't worry bout what anyone else thinks.
