Alright BTDT parents....travelling with 2 LOs...advice please

So DH and I booked our trip back to NY for the holidays
My dd will be 3 1/2 years old and my ds will be 8 months old
We will be staying at my SIL but they have no kids

Stupid question but...what should I bring with me? What should I bring/pack on the plane? DD has a seat but ds has no seat (lap ticket)
Does anyone have a list?

Im thinking of bringing dd car seat on the plane...gate check our snap and go stroller and checking in his car seat. I think? WWYD

Im really nervous about this

i would gate check the snap and go and the infant seat

bring the car seat on- it makes it easier when they are strapped in

bring a dvd player/ipad to watch movies play games - also bring a few new toys out of the package and wrapped - break these out when you really need them

bring something interesting when you cannot use electronics- favorite books, magna doodle

for the 8 month - i would have abottle or sippy cup for take off and landing - same for the 3 year old or lollipops work well to for their ears

then for your sil's house- you should bring a pack and play for the 8 month old - and some toys

the 3 year old may want a sleeping bag that she is used to

check your seat manual - some infant seats can be used without the base - and less stuff is easier

if you can't use your seat without the base then check the base - at baggage check in- car seats are free on almost every airline

you can gate check the infant seat - i have done it lots of time

also check all bag you do not need - i have actually attempted to take 3 kids, including twin infants - on the plane without checking but that was very difficult and i will always pay the fee going forward
