That is non negotiable for me. It would have to be licensed.

This is how I feel too and it also must be insured.

DS isn't in daycare but ITA. Unless it was another mom watching just my DS (along with her kid) but if there is a lot of kids and its being run as a daycare...it would have to be licensed.
unlicensed places don't have any regulations to follow. There are no cleanliness guidelines, no food or beverage guidelines, no do's and dont's.

Re: is your daycare provider liscensed?
Licensed...no other way IMO.
Not that stuff cant happen in a licensed facility, but in a licensed facility there are regulations that need to be followed and the state checks.

Re: is your daycare provider liscensed?
never, not even an option. always my first question when we were looking. we wouldn't even see a place if it were not state licensed.
a mom who is home with her child caring for mine also was not an option.

Same here. I know it's cheaper to go the non licensed route and if I couldn't afford licensed I would have to consider all options. However, it's not something I would otherwise consider.

Same.
No license, no real rules and laws to follow. I like the fact the state pops in, and surprises mine. Keeps them in thier toes and on the straight and narrow.

Re: is your daycare provider liscensed?
My son is watched by my sister in laws mother. In her home. She is not licensed but I consider her like family. The lady who lives across the street is a mom who watches 4 kids who also is not licensed and always has kids. If I was to send him to a facility or to someone I did not know then yes.

Yes. I am not sure I could trust one that isn't.
An accident can happen anywhere and with any one but the licesned hs to go through checks periodicly.
