spinoff to amoxicillin question! has anyone's child had issues with omniceff?
my LO has been on omniceff for about a week. (6 months old)
they haven't slept in a week either. haven't had a bit of solid food and barely draining a bottle. then they wake at night and scream inconsolably!! i feed them and they fall back asleep.
today i didn't give them the omniceff and guess what! THEY napped like 'normal!' they also slept through the night (woke about 5 times but only needed some pacifier soothing, etc.)
i am just wondering if it's coincidence or if it could truly be the omniceff.

It made my DS's appetite worse and then he threw up after the 3rd dose. I held him off a day and when I tried it again, he threw up. DR said no more. It can be rough on their bellies.

We hated that med....didn't even work and had to switch meds.

I posted about Amoxicillin but I looked up your medication and it does list hyperactive as a side effect I think. Good luck! I called my ped and because it's not a typical side effect for amoxycillin or anything serious (as far as they consider) she told me to stay on it. I don't know if I can take the stimulation for another week!

Same with us...DS was just on it. It was so hard on his stomach and after 4 days there wasn't even any improvement. We switched.

omniceff is horrible! It turned out DD was allergic to it. I was in her room at least 5 times a night to change her sheets from all the vomit. Then they gave her it in the shot form and she broke out in a rash all over her body

Is that the one that is white and stinks, then YES! Killed my one DD's stomach, I hate that crap!

we used that a long long time ago (DD is 5 now) but i remember it was AWFUL. any time after when she was prescribed antibiotics i always said NO omniseff. i don't recall the exact issues i had but i think it made DD sick to her stomach. there are other alternatives out there that are better!

hated that medicine! We were on vacation when my DC took it...made for a horrid time. Completely destroyed the stomach!
