National breast feeding in public day
Please don't turn this into yet another BF vs FF thread. today has been designated national breastfeeding in public day. I think a great idea because there is such a stigma surrounding public breast feeding in the US. http://blog.thebump.com/2012/08/15/its-public-display-of-breastfeeding-day-enter-our-pdb-giveaway/

I'm going to be honest here... I am currently ebf my 5 month old and I hate nursing in public, I can't even nurse in front of my family. I really can't stand going out right not because my chunked is still eating every 2-3hours and it's so difficult finding places to feed him when out. I don't know if it's me who has the issue, the way society views this or a little of both but I wish things were different, I love nursing my son.

You're not alone, I feel the same way! Even my family is very uncomfortable with it. If they are visiting and I start nursing DS (all covered up by the way, they can't see anything), they will suddenly have to go home. Every...single...time. So it just makes it worse! Kudos to the ladies who feel comfortable enough to do it in public, I wish I could

I used to whip out the boob everywhere!!!! Anywhere you would give your kid a bottle, you should be able to nurse!

I am so happy when I see women NIP! I don't have the courage to do this, I pump and bottle feed in public, especially because DS at 7 months is the size of a 2 year old.....I can't deal with looks people would give me.

Thank goodness. I'll never understand why feeding a baby is "gross" and frowned upon, but someone half-naked in an advertisement is perfectly ok.

I had the opposite problem... I would've been fine NIP, but DD was not. She'd pull off me and cry until we went somewhere quiet and private. I have a nursing-friendly baby carrier and a nursing cover on my registry for #2... I hope that helps this one adjust!
