4month old loves tv
And I dont know what to do about it. Even if he hears it he swings his head around to look. I let him watch mickey mouse clubhouse and he loves it, laughs and eyes are pierced. I know docs say no tv until 2 but that is pretty impossible in my house.
Anyone's kids watch tv that young and notice any issues as they got older?
I know my godchildren watched very young as well and are in school now and have no issues, and do very well. Just wondering if there were any real life stories to be shared

AJ watched Yellow Submarine since 2m old LOL
Its not like its TV its just moving images with sound in a box. As she got older it became educational videos like Letter factory and Meet the Numbers. So she was captivated. A brief period of Sesame Street. She's going to be 4 next week and we shut off the TV for hours, no issue. We can go a full day without the TV its not a problem. She does fine in school as well.

At that age tehy are reacting to the stimulation. It's not like they are sitting there understanding what is going on.
They see lights, hear sounds- it would be odd if they DIDN'T get a little captivated by it.
My DD watched Baby Einstein DVD's from a VERY young age.
She is just fine now at 2 years old.
Don't sweat it.

I hope its ok because my son has been watching Baby Einstein (aka Baby Crack) since he was about 3 months old. At 11 months, he still loves it.

I wouldnt' worry about it. DD was a very tough baby...crying alot with very bad reflux. Mickkey mouse clubhouse was my savior!! lol At 2 years old now she still loves the show, and is doing great developmentally in every way. I woldn't worry.

I never stressed about TV, because I do so many activities with my kids that a little TV on down time never hurt. DD was watching it probably around 2 months reacting to the lights and sounds and shortly after starting watching baby einstein videos. She is in preschool and started talking very early and has no problems.
DD #2 is now almost 3 months and always tilts her head to the TV since DD #1 is watching. She smiles and loves it, so I have no issues with her watching it either.
I believe that as long as you aren't leaving your kid in front of a TV all day and you are getting outside and doing plenty of activities with you children that a little TV time can't hurt, just my opinion.

My DD started watching TV at 3 months old (she LOOOOOOVED "Finding Nemo") and honestly, she is now almost 4 years old has NO issues or ill effects from TV. In fact, 95% of the time she'd rather do something else than watch TV but she is able to sit through a whole show or movie easily which I like because sometimes, I just need her occupied so I can get a few things done.
My personal feeling on TV.................everything in moderation is fine. I never had a problem with DD watching TV, it was just a small part of a day filled with many, many other activities and interactions.

Moderation is the key...The AAP doesn't recommend TV until 2. I was a stickler for this and DS never watched a minute of TV till then. DD watched much earlier - prob about 12mths.
They only get 1h of TV per day, and I don't notice any differences in learning, etc. The only thing I notice is that when TV is on my son (older) will sit for the entire show, where DD never had the same attention span.

I felt like at that age DS always was looking at the TV. But as the PPL said, babies wail react to the light and sound. Now at almost 12 mos he could care less. He's so much more interested in his toys.

i dont stress about tv either. as long as there are other activities and TV isnt the only stimulus and isnt the primary stimulus, IMO it fine. DD has loved yo gabba gabba since she was maybe 5m old. at first she would just stare but now she loves it and dances to the music. we watch anywhere from 0-3 episodes a day and we pretty much keep the TV off from her shows the rest of the time. even when shes plays in the living room she doesnt even pay attention to the tv unless gabba is on. i agree that moderation is fine.
ETA we also try to watch on netflix mostly so she isnt seeing too much advertising. im actually more worried about the messaging in ads then i am about the baby shows that shes watching.

Dd is 3 months old and will sometimes me captivated by the tv... I dont see a prob with it as longas she's not in front of it 24/7. Spongebob has caught her interest LOL
