Moms of 2 or more -- true or false?

There is 11 years between my first 2 so there were some things that were different, but I already knew some "tips and tricks" that made life easier. Now that my 2nd and 3rd are going to be 27 months apart I'm sure things will be easier cause of my 2nd but harder because I have to learn to juggle the 2 of them !!! Thank goodness my dd is a big help when dh is at work!!

True but, overall things are harder because you have to divide your attention.

Re: Moms of 2 or more -- true or false?

Yes and No. For me with number 2 I am so much more relaxed. Obviously I know what to do, what not to do, what is normal and what isn't.n I don't freak out like I did with number one. I know she will be ok. You're already settled into your routine. Going from no kids to one is difficult because you have to give up your old life. I found number two just fit right in. Also because I'm more relaxed I think my second feeds off that relaxed calm vibe and she is very relaxed and easy going. The hard part is the balancing act. I'm still learning how to give my first daugher all the attention she was use to and still take care of a young infant. Its also harder in the fact that you can never rest when the baby sleeps because you have to chase number 1 around. Overall I guess I lean more towards yes its easier.

True for the most part. I became much more relaxed about a lot of things, but my younger one's personality is a heck of a lot stronger than my older one. Total drama queen!

True and false Chat Icon True, things were alot easier with my second but, false because i knew everything from my first. My second was TOTALLY different than my first. She was a VERY easy baby which my first was not so things were ALOT easier when she was born. That said, now that she is a toddler - she is a lot more difficult than my first and nothing I knew helps Chat Icon

You can't generalize.
Yes... You don't go to the dr with every stuffy nose... But two is a LOT harder than one!

Re: Moms of 2 or more -- true or false?

I agree, it definitely is a balancing act. But I think I was definitely more relaxed with # 2 because I felt I knew more what to expect and had much more confidence in myself.

yes true for me and i had twins the second time. i had my kids on a schedule so much faster. the only hard part is that you cannot sleep when ever you want. so when my mom came over or my sh was home on the weekends i tried to catch some extra sleep

Re: Moms of 2 or more -- true or false?

Completely untrue. My kids were SO different. Luca was easy. I had no idea how the f**k to calm Izzie down or get her to sleep comfortably for like 8 weeks. I wanted to run away multiple times Chat Icon

Luckily she is awesome now Chat Icon so it was all worth it but just remember, as much as you know now, your kids may not be the same Chat Icon

Absolutely, however I think the spacing is important. I had my first two 5 years apart, so my first was already potty trained etc. Mine next two are almost 3 years apart. It was more difficult but fine. My sister had hers exactly 2 years apart and she really has to juggle naps etc. Its tough for her. Im glad I spaced mine out.

Also my #1 is special needs. #2 and #2 loved to sleep and are cuddly love bugs so it was easier for me. If things were the other way around and my oldest son came last or second things wouldnt have been easier, but harder.

For me this was true. I wasn't as uptight about things as I was with #1. I definitely learned to expect the unexpected. And I certainly didn't feel as if I had as much to figure out.

Re: Moms of 2 or more -- true or false?

In my particular situation, #2 was far easier than #1. My first had some special needs, was a tough baby who had trouble communicating with us...then by the time Ryan was born, Johnny was close to 3 years old and eveything started coming together..he was talking , potty trained and just EASIER in general. And Ryan was a dream baby. Easiest child ever. I said how crazy it was that two children at those ages was a million times easier than just Johnny as an infant!

Now we'll see what happens should #3 come along...lol!! I may be singing a different tune. Life is just so nice and easy now, lol!

Moms of 2 or more -- true or false?

I'm pregnant with number 2, but for some odd reason I am more nervous now than when I had my first. I feel like I am not going to handle two.

I agree.

Also, I found that if DS#3 did something that the twins never did or did something a different way, I worried that something was wrong. With the first child, EVERYTHING is new so you don't have a comparison.

Same here! The baby is a breeze. Being a mom of two on the other hand requires extra time, energy, patience, hands....just about everything! Chat Icon
